McCollum has now assembled a pretty good roster. A few question marks in there, depth may or may not be a problem, but he should have a solid starting 5 to compete in the BigTen. This is going to be fun to watch…..and yes I enjoy watching good defense!

How does he fit into the rotation? Seems like we have a bit of a 4 log jam.

This graphic was before Trey's commitment.

For you and everyone else: who's your starting 5 and who's seeing significant minutes coming off the bench? Trey obviously is expecting to be in the rotation.

Guessing these are the starters:
Bennett Stirtz
Brendan Hausen
Cooper Koch?.........or someone else?
Alvaro Folgueiras
Cam Manyawu

His passing is what stuck out the most to me from the clips. Running the “point forward” and just dropping dimes on the break

Great pickup.

It’s got to be weird for a kid to be preparing for a senior year of high school, only to decide at the beginning of July to forego his senior year and head off to college.

How does that work? I know you technically don’t need a high school diploma to get into college, but does he get a GED?

Good questions.

Meanwhile, from the Daily Iowan:

“Man, I’m telling you, it’s the coaching staff, Thompson said after his official visit to Iowa City. “I’m telling you, that’s what it is. They’re such down to earth people. They’re constantly making fun of each other, messing with each other, but they’re serious as well. When you’re in practice, they don’t joke, they want to get their work done, and get out of there.”

This is a good sign that Ben is already winning recruiting battles in his first three months on the job.

I’m cautiously optimistic about the future of Iowa basketball.

Guy looks amazing, and his words about the staff on the team sounds like he's really sold on our program. BMC is absolutely killing it!
It bodes well for the future.

Outside of Tyler Cook, I can’t think of one out-of-state recruit Fran landed who was actually coveted by other P4 schools. Luka Garza had a few decent offers, but that’s about it.
