On the hot seat with the Hawks. He’d kill it recruiting with the UK brand. Crazy good Xs and Os guy. Fits the maverick mold. For reference, I live in MO. Loved him when he coached the Tigers, he was just too immature to handle it all.
No. If we can’t land a top tier HOF quality college coach who’s been doing this in the current era, just go young. On the hot seat with the Hawks. He’d kill it recruiting with the UK brand. How’s a UK guy working out? We have to quit it with that garbage. Duke coaches and assistants sure seem to be doing a whole lot better than our lovable loser.Wouldn’t fly here. He’s a Duke guy. Helmed a couple of their Final Four teams as the point guard (1988, 89) and was an assistant briefly.
I agree. You’d get early Cal level recruiting.Quinn Snyder would kill it at UK.
Dude went 126-91 as head coach of Missouri.I agree. You’d get early Cal level recruiting.

Don’t use Wikipedia and then comment like you know something. He ultimately failed at Mizzou because of his personal life. Rebuilt his career in the D league and then has become one of the best coaches in the NBA.Dude went 126-91 as head coach of Missouri.
Dude I didn’t say anything about his personal life. I’m looking at his record right now. How is a dude who hasn’t coached in college since pre-OAD and lost double digit games for 7 consecutive seasons the answer? How about you fill me in instead of talking about his personal life? If anything, hiring coaches with demons hasn’t helped in the past.Don’t use Wikipedia and then comment like you know something. He ultimately failed at Mizzou because of his personal life. Seems like he’d be our Mike Woodson eraThe NBA is a different game. You don't actually have to teach guys how to play the game and you don't have to recruit other people do that for you.
This is the dumbest post I have seen in a long time.Lots of comedy here
Quinn Snyder hahaha no thanks
People need to chill
UNC and KU both lost on the road today to much worse teams than we did and Duke got lucky to beat a 7-7 FSU
Basketball is a completely different landscape than 10-20 years ago
I hate losing games more than anybody but I like this teams ceiling if we can stay healthy rest of the year

Right but you know that team lost 12 games as well. To me, anyone saying Pope didn’t have the resume and then hires Snyder are committing the same foul. Pope has less on his resume but it’s the same argument, “If he can do this here, what could he do at Kentucky.” Absolutely not —- Snyder doesn’t have the resume…period. And that’s even ignoring the fact that Tayshaun Prince was still an active player the last time he was relevant in college. Absolutely a hard no from me. The next hire needs to be a home run and his name is Bruce Pearl. If you can’t get a Pearl or someone of that magnitude, you go youngin fairness I see why he kept the Missou job that long:
“He eventually led the Tigers to four consecutive NCAA tournamentberths, including the Elite Eight in 2002, matching the deepest run ever made by a Missouri team in the NCAA Tournament.”
For Missouri, this carries much more weight than at a school Kentucky for whom making the tournament every year is considered normal.
Just what I’d expectThis is the dumbest post I have seen in a long time.
I love how you youngsters just google stuff and then pretend to actually have a clue. He’s legit one of the most respected coaches in the NBA. It’s a pipe dream because if the Hawks fired him and he wanted another gig, he’d get it in the NBA. Weird how some 30something googles and uses his collegiate record from 30 yrs ago to determine his worth for a job, yet ignores his NBA career. You should be Barney’s assistant.Am I missing the joke or is this a serious thread? We don’t want Pope because he is mediocre and the answer to hire an even older coach who lost double digit games every single year on his official coaching record?
That’s actually what he’s really respected in the NBA for. It’s also what built his reputation in the G league and in Europe. His individual skill development is crazy good. The NBA is a different game. You don't actually have to teach guys how to play the game and you don't have to recruit other people do that for you.
You’re drunk man. This teams ceiling doesn’t need an elevator. Hell, it barely needs stairs.Lots of comedy here

Saying Pope is a “good coach” disqualifies you moving forward. Goodness. Use your own analysis. His ball screen defense alone DQs him from being a good coach. He went into an SEC road game with ONE coverage. That was obvious, correct? I coach HS basketball. We teach six coverages on ball screens alone and probably employ 3-4 per game based on the scout. If we hired Snyder, at least the cycle would hold true:
Rupp - Great coach
Hall - Good coach
Sutton - Substance
Pitino - Great coach
Smith - Good coach
Gillispie - Substance
Calipari - Great coach
Pope - Good coach
Snyder - Substance
I say sign the guy to a 1 day contract, then we can speed run this and go hire the next great coach
Surely you scrolled far enough on his wiki page to get a peak at his NBA coaching career?Right but you know that team lost 12 games as well. My age has nothing to do with how illogical your point is. We just watched Mike Woodson at Indiana…how did that go? We don’t know how he will do in the current college era because he hasn’t coached there since 2006…you know that one? That was his seventh consecutive double digit loss season. And yes, I’m a huge NBA fan…I’m VERY familiar with Snyder in the league. I see nothing that makes me think he’s the answer to our problems. Chalk it to me being “young and dumb” if you want but you demonstrated literally nothing to say he deserves to coach at Kentucky. Don’t complain about hiring coaches that don’t have the resume if that’s your suggestion. It’s silly.I love how you youngsters just google stuff and then pretend to actually have a clue. You overanalyzed a joke, my guy. Keep up.Saying Pope is a “good coach” disqualifies you moving forward. Goodness. Use your own analysis. His ball screen defense alone DQs him from being a good coach. If you’re an NBA fan, you know Mike Woodson sucked there too.My age has nothing to do with how illogical your point is. We just watched Mike Woodson at Indiana…how did that go? Hey…I’m slow. You can’t be the ONLY village idiot on here! You overanalyzed a joke, my guy. Keep up.
Don’t drinkYou’re drunk man. This teams ceiling doesn’t need an elevator. Hell, it barely needs stairs.
I’d say Woodson was mediocre in the NBA. But regardless, NBA and college are completely different games. As a coach, you should be able to tell that immediately. If you’re an NBA fan, you know Mike Woodson sucked there too.
That dude wouldn’t survive on this forum without Wikipedia or ChatGPT. He’s insufferable.Don’t use Wikipedia and then comment like you know something. AccurateHe was married to Larry Brown's daughter which is how he got to be an NBA assistant before becoming an NBA head coach.
Got fired at Missouri because he had an affair with a cheerleader.
