I know this was expected by many, but now official. Personally very wary of us getting involved, but I know some want him to come here.

Can you imagine all the quick decisions Pikiell needs to make these days. He has all these guys transferring and has to replace an assistant coach.

Not easy....

Really hope it's a quick thing. We need all hands on deck recruiting HSers/transfers.

I would hope/assume Pike has a list of guys lined up to place each and every Asst. Theyre definitely in demand within the mid major ranks.

I wouldnt give Quinerly a second thought right now. All out efforts on some forwards and 3 & D guys.

No quinerly...don't want and don't need right now...Pike has had a list of possible assistants and I'm sure he has known this day will come...I'm just hoping we don't lose Brandon Knight to Auburn because that was a rumor because of his connection with Pearl. Would suck to lose 2 great assistants in 1 off season, but the more successful you are the more assistants you will lose .

It’s important to keep improving talent. So this is a tough one. Quinery has a lot of talent but had a tough go of it at Nova and will be risky for sure. If Pike wants him, I’m all on board. He will know better than anyone here.

We gotta do something with these scholarships. Would be such a waste to burn one two years in a row.
Yeboah and a 4 to play 3 transfer big man. The kid from UNLV would be ideal but doesn't look like we're landing him.

Quinerly decision is an easy one. Strong pass. Pikiell has his criteria. Not every one is going to meet it. It makes his job easier.

I think the coaches have a pretty good handle on it all. They also have recruiting staffs that gauge the interest of a transfer so the coaches aren’t having to do each one.

Just like the Hoiberg deal at NU, he said they are out visiting recruits that committed today and then he will get a list from his staff on targets and get back on airplane. They are planning 5 official visitors for the Spring football game. All while he still had 2 coaches to hire and the rest of his staff.

I think this is all second nature to the coaches.

I sure hope we don't consider Quinerly. We do not need to disrupt our chemistry in any way. We do not need another guard. We need a big guy and a forward who can hit 3's.

I would take Quinerly.. Jacob young will be a red shirt jr, and could grad transfer out - if he doesn't like how his role plays out. Mulcahy could struggle early on.. Im not saying that either will happen, or that Quinerly is better.. But we are not to good for Quinerly at the moment. A situation where Young and Kiss - grad transfer out, and Mulcahy struggles with the big 10 athlete. A guard like Quinerly could prove useful

If Jay Wright wanted him on the team he would have thrown him a few bones.

The fact that Wright doesn’t want him on the team tells you EVERYTHING you need to know.
Jay Wright didnt like him as a person, had nothing to do with the player he was. Jahvons not your upstanding citizen type. Hes the type whos late to class and smokes weed. He fits in at 90%+ of college programs in america, not nova tho

Not here either then. There's a reason Corey got suspended multiple times. Not what Pike is looking for

Jay Wright knew within 2 weeks of having Quinerly on campus that it wasn't going to work out. Quinerly did the absolute minimum to get on the court and in the class room. When the handlers put out feelers prior to the break to see if Q had a landing spot and no one came running is all anyone needs to know.

As KYK said this has nothing to do with ability and more about attitude and the people that are "hanging" onto this kid.

I trust Coach Pikiell on this one, but landing top flight talent has always been an issue here. Coach Wright is in a totally different situation and can put his foot down on how he expects everyone to buy into his ways and expectations. It isn’t often that Rutgers, in basketball and football, has a player who is clearly more talented than the opposing Big Ten team’s counterpart.

Is he really that good? Or are is it just based on rankings coming out of high school?

We are landing top flight talent. McConnell is a better guard than quinerly

We just had an enormous talent here and the minute he left the team we got noticeable better.

This has a Corey Chandler feel to it -- very talented (but often out of control) kid on the court, and a headcase off the court. Not really worth the ship at this stage, with the way Pike has built up the backcourt and team chemistry.

McConnell is not more talented than Quinerly. .JQ is a five star guard with a one star brain. RU Is smart to stay away from him, but not because of his talent.
McConnell was dominant at times and would've been moreso had he gotten starter minutes..has to build up stamina. Personally I think that anyone who would take quinerly instead of McConnell has brain damage, is blind, or a combination of both. What makes him a five star guard besides the ranking? Nothing he has done screams five star talent. There were times McConnell, in real game situations vs stiff big ten competition and without starter minutes, was unstoppable and the reason our team had a chance.
