I was a little young, but he was churning out the hits. Great music!
... Listening to him this morning and I forgot just how many hits he had wow.
I question if somebody like him could be a big star today. He wasn't exactly the best looking guy and his voice live wasn't as good as a lot of other people's, but it worked in the 70's & 80's

I think people in music (especially rock stars) almost get a pass on looks because their talent and confidence make women love them.
