A couple of years ago, when Sanders and Johnson were both 4* wr's coming out of high school, all of the talk was about sanders for some reason. I fell into the recruiting trap and coveted sanders more b/c of all the hype over him. After seeing Johnson today and reading about sander's problems catching the ball in bearland, it looks like we got the right one. And was I the only one impressed with Bohanna's apparent quickness? Maybe those that were at the game had a better perspective of his speed and quickness, but on tv, he appeared to move really well.

Johnson is going to be a playa for us. He is really going to make some plays this Fall at the WR position. WR has been such a hindrence to us the last few seasons- its now a strength.

Bohanna can play. We are going to be ok at LB. They still have to work, but they will be ok. Our DL will also help make sure of that.

I worry about his quickness against SEC CBs. I think he'll be able to get off the line, but I wonder if he'll be able to create space.

I think he's going to have to make a lot of catches in traffic this fall. I hope he's able to do that.

to look at specific groups...while at the game, I mostly watched QB-RB play, and the WR's. I didnt notice LT being a problem- the center and 2 guards on the white group were so overmatched many times is the only thing that stood out without really watching the line play and breaking it down.

Russell didnt have as good of protection, but even when he did, he didnt look as good as Mighty Mouse. Taking the sack the way he did rolling to the right out of the pocket on the first or second play just kinda set the tone. He should have thrown the ball away instead of taking the 8 yard loss. He ran the option to the home side once and the LB jumped him quick and he nearly pissed himself instead of just pitching the ball. He just dropped the ball another time while avoiding the rush.

Tyler simply doesnt belong in our offense. He needs to be in an I-based offense that mixes in some shotgun.

But you're right in that this offense is not what he's suited for. From watching him yesterday though, I'm convinced that he can be really productive in it though. Sad that he won't get the productivity that he probably deserves.

Rusell had no chance. And really had weak protection all day. I'm not ready to rule him out at all. Especially listening to Mullen during his post-game interview. He acknowledged that Russell had the least protection but still did well except for a couple of over thrown balls. I'd agree with everyone else though we've never been this strong at the qb position ever.

I think he has plenty of speed. I used to think the same thing, and then I went back and watched his high school film. He was the only one who did anything against SP.

is pretty much the same. I think Tyler is the better QB if you were just talking in abstract. He throws the deep ball pretty well and hits some pretty passes. But when you look at it in terms of OUR offense, I can't believe that Favre isn't #2 already. He scrambles well (sure he left early a few times, and missed the outlet man a few times, but that it just youth and the speed of the game). He can make the short passes we live off of. And he sees the field well when he has time.

I'll go on record right now saying that IF Mullen really sticks to his "the best player will play" philosophy then Favre will jump Tyler next year. I think we are in good shape for the future though.

o line, which may be closer to what we see against LSU, Aub and Ala. To see how he reacts with pressure and can he throw on the run or check down to his second option with a DE on him.It is hard to compare the two when Relf didnt get touched and Russell looked like Fant with no protection. 2nd year in a row.
