They should be at the stadium now getting ready to get this thing started back up. Supposed to redevelop this afternoon. I do NOT want to see this thing stretch into Tuesday. I want to end this and end this now.

It's in the NCAA's hands. UVA has no more control over when the game was suspended and when it will be resumed than we do.

Re-posting this from dawgphd...

"Shared a table last night after the washout with a UVA media guy.

He said ESPN made the call on handling the re start time.

Said UVA folks showed the weather maps to ESPN folks and they ignored them to keep Monday play in the 4 PM window."

Seriously, what kind of thinking is going on at ESPN? They have the 18th Sportscenter of the day slated for noon-2pm followed by Outside the Lines. ESPNU has track and field at noon. And obviously ESPN3 is an option. Really mind boggling.

I would guess more people at home to watch it

I can understand wanting the 3rd game (if necessary) to be set at an official time. But a resumed game SHOULD be started back up at the first oppportunity. Anytime at noon or later that you can finish the suspended game should be taken advantage of. I mean you don't pick a TV broadcast time to pick up from a rain delay and that is exactly what this is.

In other words, 4 p.m. is the WORST time you could pick to start the game.

I just don't understand

why, knowing the possible weather conditions, they don't have both teams on stand-by ready to go. I mean I understand that they can't call them on the phone and say "hey show up in 15 minutes!", but if there's a window where there is good weather before 1500, then they should be playing. Of course, the NCAA is running the show, so I would expect it to be a charlie foxtrot..

What gets me is they already screwed us out of 3 innings of coverage with "technical difficulties" bull ****, so are we to believe the dicks at ESPN actually want to televise this game. 17'n and "play ball"

Must be ESPN. The NCAA has made it clear with their commercials all weekend that

they care about the student-athete, so it can't be them.

Oh no doubt, they care

about the student athlete. So much so, that when a coach and school get caught cheating, they prevent more student athletes from going to school. I got your sarcasm, just wanted to add my own $0.02.

I'm sure they (ESPN) did make the call but....

If I am a UVA person I would be very happy with the delay. Gives more time for pitching to recover and if we can get the second game complete things favor them in the event of a rainout of game 3 because first of all for there to be a game 3 they have to win game 2. If that happened and game 3 was a wash on tues they would almost certainly be selected by the committee to go to Omaha. Now neither of those scenario's are likely but still.....
