Raiola to Louisville?

Jeff Brohm has some good success with QBs and passing offenses. It’s an Adidas school, Dylan has an NIL deal with Adidas. Defenses are generally weaker in the ACC compared to B1G and SEC. I’d be surprised if Louisville is outspending Nebraska in NIL but there’s several reasons a transfer to Louisville would make sense. Though I admit, it wouldn’t have been on my radar.

It's all about money at this point and who will take a chance with his injury.
Even if a lot of it came from me holding the ball too long, or not being the shiftiest person in the pocket, I would probably want out too if I'd been hit as often as he has in the past 2 years. Maybe it continues? Maybe our pass blocking is some of the worst in college football? I'd bet that it couldn't get worse if I was in his shoes though. I don't blame him one bit. The weird part, of course, is that it was his uncle's OL :ROFLMAO:

He's still a gamble for a school to take and he will demand money. He has talent but requires a lot of talent around him to be successful.

Make no mistake, DR is NFL talent. Think: Tom Brady's slow feet. You don't really want your QB running in the NFL as a matter of course. You get hurt. P Mahomes, Lamar, etc. DR is what, 20, 21, years old? He'll be okay.

He is nowhere near Tom Brady's level. He has no accuracy on deep balls. Routinely fails to hit his receivers in stride when they are open. Protects his stats and eats sacks instead of throwing the ball away. We should be able to find a better or at least similar QB.

If Dylan sticks around somehow he needs to take a huge pay cut. Doubt he sticks around.

I would probably expect DR to wind up at Louisville based on Brohm's success as a QB coach. Texas Tech and Oregon have already said they're not interested in Raiola, I would expect the same from Clemson and Florida State as they have both tried their statue QB experiment with Ugallelli which ended in disaster.

I think Leavitt winds up at LSU, would not be surprised to see N. Texas QB Mestemaker wind up at Indiana, to play 2 years for Cignetti.

Sorsby, I think will have several schools he might land at, and I think DJ from Florida has several but is limited due to his lack of footspeed and his 16/14 TD to INT ratio.

No idea which QB from the portal winds up at NU.

Hmmmm, something doesn't feel like it's adding up. 24/7 has DR rated #2 overall player and #2 QB, yet top teams are passing on him and his best option might now be Louisville? Is he pricing himself too high? Or do the recruiting services have him rated too high? Starting to feel like a potential Nico situation where he had to settle for UCLA for less money.

Nico waited till it was too late for Tenn to find a replacement and he backed them into a corner and held them hostage...that was a major reason he wasn't better received in the portal. Dylan isn't doing that. The two are not even close IMO, and we have no idea what Dylan is asking or what team might want him. He could end up at Miami for 4mil a year for all we know.

There's more than once that he hit his receiver in stride only for the WR to drop it as well. Would love to see stats around his long ball passing.. I know he missed quite a few but how many fall on the WR vs. him?

Could be because of the $$$ he wants and the fact that dad wants him and Dayton packaged together. If he’s still pitching that I can see where many programs would say no thanks

I don’t pretend to know what actually caused Dylan to leave, presumably. I do know the first public clue was Dayton’s decommit and he didn’t have a better/equivalent destination in hand. Perhaps we pulled the offer, and that’s when things started to happen.

I could potentially see Dayton being forced upon NU as a condition of keeping Dylan. But now that Dylan is on the open market and not the in the same demand he was out of HS, I can’t imagine the Raiola’s burdening that process by linking Dylan and Dayton.

And now it is time for the portion of the program where a lot of Husker fans start to trash the hell out of a player that they loved a few months ago...
Sounding like he may have burnt some bridges here. Can't back that up just hearing rumbling

But is also doesn't help a kid who isn't very mobile work on becoming more mobile.
People need to get over the mobility. He isn't going to turn into Lamar Jackson. He has a lot of things he needs to clean up, but he's always going to be a guy who needs the right system. That is much more important than spending the whole off-season trying to be someone he isn't.

This is how I should have responded, you are correct. This will give programs pause and think if the have the pieces in place to make this work. It also doesn't help Dylan is now use to having the cash he made at Nebraska and will most likely demand the same if not more.

I know some hurt feelings were had from little brother most likely being told his spot was in jeopardy to uncle Dom being let go, and dad being furious most likely, so Dylan leaving was inevitable. Now schools will have to not only deal with some of these unknows but also the the Raiola family possibly, these are the unknowns.

It's no wonder Matt Rhule finally had enough and ended his relationship with the Raiola family starting with little brother then with Dominic, I would bet Matt Rhule had some heated conversations with dear old dad and knew the dominos were going to fall and he let them.

Of course like everyone here on this site I have no inside information, it's pure speculation on my point but I'm sure at some point the truth will come out.

I wondered this myself - also just my speculation. But what if this was a 2 year deal from the start? Take Dayton, keep uncle Donny, and Dylan will give you 2 years. Dylan got hurt and didn't play the full 2 years, so maybe Rhule went to renegotiate. Dom said no - so Rhule said ok, then adios to the rest of them. Ha - lines up like Fast and Furious sequel, or a B version of the Godfather...lol. Offseason fun!

Of course he's never going to be Lamar Jackson, but if his goal is to play at the top level of football, he needs to work on his weaknesses which includes mobility as well as the other areas you implied, just like everyone that has aspirations of making at NFL roster, or staying at that level. Working on your weaknesses does not mean the goal is to become something you will never be.

5* QBs between the 2023 & 2024 classes... Only 1 has never entered the transfer portal - Arch Manning.

2023: Manning, Nico Iamaleava, Dante Moore, Jackson Arnold, Malachi Nelson

2024: DJ Lagway, Dylan Raiola, Julian Sayin

Those are some pretty successful QB's that did get hurt, but that could happen just as easily to a pcoket passer like Brady

Meh. That's like saying a 28 year old qb needs to work on arm strength. You either have it or you don't. Brett Favre didn't have a rocket arm from working out. Dylan has offensive lineman genes. He can only do so much. He is a pro-style, pocket passer. People seem to have a hard accepting that.
