1. Bama is a great team, well-coached, with talent all over the place. That being said, it's an absolute travesty that they haven't been called for offensive holding (or tackling) since October?? I saw several takedowns worthy of the WWF during tonight's game. # 77 should have gotten about 5 flags thrown on him alone. That is more than disturbing to me & it's compounded by the praise heaped on that stat from the talking heads. I mean come on, let's get real here.
2. The talk here in Georgia is that Mullen offered Martinez the LB coaching job at MSU and he turned it down. He wasn't offered the DC position. UGA is after Kirby Smart (current Bama DC) to replace Martinez. It's believed that he will make a decision in a few days and then the dominoes will begin to fall into place. Speculation is that Martinez could end up coaching cornerbacks at Florida if that coach jumps to Louisville with Strong.
3. Mack Brown is a moron for failing to give meaningful snaps to his backup qb during the season. There were plenty of chances during blowout wins to get this done. That being said, Meyer would have been screwed if Tebow had missed significant time during his head injury. These coaches put the Heisman award above prepping for the National Championship. Stupid move. I think we will be in better shape using the 2 qb system next year for this very reason. Mullen also understands having qb depth as well (which is nice for a change).
4. Looking forward to next season. Hopefully, we will pull Diaz (or equivalent) for our new DC and get back to having a stingy defense. Should go well with a creative offense and a coach known for developing qbs. Ole Miss will take a step down but their record won't reflect it too much due to their creampuff schedule.
