1. Brandon Maye is a decent LB ... in a ***** conference like the ACC. Too f'n soft for this league.
2. Cam Lawrence, GTFO. Take your undersized white *** to delta state.
3. Tyler Russell's parents should sue mullens for gross negligence putting that concrete shoe wearing MFer out there to get his *** run slam over.
4. Decent enough game plan on D side I thought.
5. We have no depth. None.
6. Charles Mitchell having 16 tackles is NOT something to celebrate, Jim and Matt.
7. The Indian burial ground is a *****. Tobias, then I'll be F'd if Fletcher didn't trip over his own stupid *** trying to get off the field.
8. The bcs national championship game will be played on November 5 in Tuscaloosa.

And I am not a "great white hope loving redneck" either. I think he played a pretty dang good game - for the second straight game.
<div>
</div><div>Brandon Maye is not only a bad player, he is a liability. Worst MLB I have seen at MSU, maybe ever. He got trucked so hard by their fullback one time, I thought he would just leave the field out of humiliation. Hopefully the coaches watch the tape and he doesnt see much of the field, outside of special teams, the rest of the year.</div><div>
</div><div>I have a lot more thoughts, but just got back from the game and I am tired...so I will wait until tomorrow. </div>

The guy 17n sucked in this game to me. I think the 16 tackles just came by default that he was there as the guy was going down. There were several plays where he could have made the tackle at the line of scrimmage but he tip toed and waited to hug them down, usually getting blown passed for a gain of 3-7 yards. Not to mention his awful coverage on the touchdown pass. Oh and that one play when LSU was inside their own 10 and he bit towards the run while the cornerback, I think Broomfield, got hung out to dry on a simple post pattern for 30 yards. With the way he was hitting and covering I was wishing they would put Whitley and Bonner back there and take him out. Other than him specifically I could not complain about the defense too much, except that Cam Lawrence needs to find some shoes without lead in them.

On offense, I think I would reevaluate who is making the calls. I mean the awful blocking didn't help, but there are things we could have done to get some first downs, mainly quit calling long developing pass plays. I'd also like to see a 17n quarterback just try to throw the ball away instead of taking a 10 yard sack, but I guess that is asking a bit much out of a senior.

He's slow, undersized and weak. In this league, that combo spells trouble. Seriously, mullen, get off your *** and sign SEC caliber LBs, MFer. This **** is getting your *** beat.

Cam's the best we got. Wilson & Skinner are both slower - and I don't know about Maye because I never notice him. He makes no positive impact whatsoever.<div>
</div><div>Matthew Wells is too small and Bohanna may be decent one day but he needs experience. Cam's the only thing we've got that even halfway resembles a LB.</div>

LB in this league.......He's a safety trying to play LB........Even the commentators were talking about how he was being pushed 15 yards off the line of scrimmage by some of the LSU lineman.......He plays with effort but that will only get you so far.......Sure, he had 14 tackles against Auburn but most of them happened when the RB's ran past him and he jumped on their backs........I like Cameron, but a SEC LB he's not..........

is not an SEC linebacker. it's homerism to say otherwise. he is undersized, weak, and slow. it's laughable that anyone would tout his abilities. if he was on any other team in the league no one would give him a second look.

I shouldn't be hating on the guy for being asked to play the position for which he is overmatched at every turn. It's just that when I look at our alleged LB corps I scratch my head and wonder who the F thought this cluster 17 up? Mullen best figure out how to recruit.

seriously though the guy seems like he has good footballinstinctsbutdoesn'thave the thump the rest of the SEC's linebackers do.<div>
</div><div>Brandon Maye. If there was a stat for standing next to the pile I'm sure he would lead the nation. Also quit waving your arms to get the crowd up.....seriously quit.</div>

about that ... if it wasn't for Mitchell, we really - really look bad ... he was having to make the tackle because the front guys couldn't

Yeah, while we do need a lot more talent in our defensive front 7.......I will not say anything about the players performance last night. Almost to a man, they were outsized. For a guy to go and knock heads with NFL talent.....takes some toughness. Not to mention, the game Saturday was very physical. I believe I heard Wyatt say pregame, Relf had sat in the whirlpool for two days after Auburn.

Anyone in the secondary having to make 16 tackles is not a good thing.

a LB who ducks his head like than on a standard hit clearly hasn't been coached much, or is completely uncoachable.

..if everybody on defense played with the heart of Cam Lawrence, MSU would have the #1 defense in the nation.

Maye's improvement from the Auburn game to the LSU game is like night & day. In the Auburn game, Maye was avoiding contact. In the LSU game, he was a damn headhunter.

Where do you come with this crap?

Is this what they are saying about Lawrence & Maye on your top secret premium subscription recruiting sites?

Whitley may make a better backer than Wells or Lawrence if he learns how to wrap up.

Maye a head Hunter? Heart + Cam Lawrence + Everybody else = #1 defense in the nation?<div>
</div><div>While Cam does play hard I see nothing that tells me he plays harder than most.</div><div>
</div><div>It was hard to watch Maye at times last night.</div>

Agreed that Cam is our best right now. If he needs to take his "undersized white ***" (not sure why his skin color is so important, post would get deleted if we talked about Maye's black ***) to Delta State, then he needs to take the rest of the linebackers with him. Cam may eventually get surpassed by others, but right now, today, he is one of our top 3 linebackers. That may not be true in a month or a year, but it is true today.

That's like asking who is better looking: Margaret Thrasher or Eleanor Roosevelt?<div>
</div><div>Lawrence has improved from the first game, so he went from horrendous to below average. Maye and Wilson is worthless. Bohanna is not athletic. Wells looks athletic and might be okay, but is light and probably not an every down LB. Skinner looks the part, but doesn't make plays. Maybe Chis Hughes will help, but he's smallish too....at least he's a mean SOB.</div>

I agree. I appreciate that he is a hard worker and a good leader, but he is a non-factor in pass defense. He shows no playmaking ability. For his 3 year and 3 game career he has 4 TOTAL pass breakups. He has 4 total interceptions, but all of those were in 2009. Guy is a safety and only has 4 pass breakups? He should have 4 in one or two games.

Guys, that was planned for him to fall down. If you notice when he changes position on the line another D-Lineman runs on the field and gets in his stance Fletcher immediately fell down. He and Charles Mitchell both knew this would result in a penalty for a substitution infraction. Charles even pushed Fletcher back on the ground to make sure the injury whistle was blown. The SEC refs were on top of things and called the penalty before the injury timeout. Sometimes that keeps you from drawing a penalty. I talked with a player on the defense and he confirmed this. Fletcher was in no way hurt. It was all on purpose. Even on the sidelines all he did after he came off was act like he was trying to loosen his hammy back up and run around.

but he is a defensive player. The first thing I learned in pee wee football was to not titty tackle. You don't run up, stop, and hug someone down. He didn't do that crap last year, or the year before.

I don't see you denying his obviously horrible pass defense. The guy bites in on the run on nearly every play action pass. It now seems kinda obvious why the cornerbacks are playing 10 yards off the receivers, because they have no help coming over from the safety position on post routes. So they have to stay ahead of the receiver just so they can make the tackle after they catch it. Like I said in my other post, thank goodness Broomfield or Banks was there with about as good coverage as possible on that post that LSU threw from inside their own 10 or it would have easily been another touchdown because Mitchell bit inside on the run. And don't say he was blitzing because he was not, on that play or the touchdown pass that he also bit on.
