Seems like an obvious place to have a couple of franchises. Just seems weird to me.</p>

Alot of the reason is the leagues don't want to be affiliated with the casinos (they would be the obvious financial backers for a team/stadium in LV), and the other unscrupulous things that Vegas is so well known for. The NBA would be the lone exception here, since they have hosted All-Star games in Vegas. Whether they would actually locate a team here, I don't know.

The NBA held the All Star game there a couple years ago as somewhat of a test run of how the city would handle having the league there. I could be wrong, but from what I remember, David Stern wasn't too thrilled with it. My memory could be wrong on that though as it was a couple years ago.

MLB has been VERY paraniod about games being fixed since 1919. Ask Pete Rose. As a result MLB has always wanted to stay away from the city as much as anything because of the gambling culture there. They do have a AAA team- and have had one for years- and they did play an exhibition game there a few years ago- the A's and I want to say the Tigers.

If MLB expands, or a team moves, it will most likely be to Portland, Oregon.

all your money and that $250 and 4-5 hours you spent tailgating and watching the game would hurt their business. When they have comedians or shows, they force them to end at the allotted time. Jay Leno talked about being forced off stage there.

Maybe more than one. The State of California just approved construction of a 75,000 seat stadium in a LA suburb.
