Here are a few points not covered so far:
1. We were destroyed in the field position battle all game. IMO the worst calls Mullen made were to bring Russell in twice at the 10. Of those 2 3-and-outs, i think there were 5 passing plays vs 1 rushing. That is not good play calling when backed up.
2. Russell apears to be a better QB than Relf, BUT if we can't establish a run game when he is in there, he just needs to be the 2 minute QB.
3. We should bring Relf in as the H-back at times when Russell is QB. This gives us a new wrinkle that has to be accounted for.
4. They did stop the triple option in the second half. The last 3 times we ran it, Relf was turned back inside for a 2 yard gain, Hanaran was stopped for no gain, and #85 was stopped for no gain on the shovel. Besides, it isn't really a triple option if Relf never utilizes the pitch man.
5. Berry and Smith are the two best blocking WR's I have ever seen at State.
6. When Bumphis gets the corner on a run play, he should consider turning it back in...I saw him run out of bounds before contact 3 different times.
