Another poster mentioned him earlier. Would love to have him back as qb coach. Would he ever come back?

Are you talking about the same QB coach that was criticized by so many fans his first time here? LOL Like most of our incompetent coaches under Joker (lack of talent) that left he went to greener pastures.

I would imagine he has a pretty sweet gig going where he's at right now. So outside some sort of shakeup in the coaching staff down there that leaves him lost in the shuffle, I can't really see us getting him back. But yeah, I'd sure love to have him coaching our QBs.

Also, whatever became of Jimmy Heggins? That guy built a very solid OL here given the talent level he had to work with. He was a huge part of the success we had during our 2006-2009 run.

He's got a solid thing going down there...CO-OC/QBs...

Always been a very good position coach...I mean anyone who can help develop Andre Woodson into a top SEC passer and Mike Hartline into a serviceable starter, knows the position...

I think he's a pretty solid OC and offensive tactician...especially when he has the talent that FSU has...I like the Pro-Style offense...and it did well here for a few seasons when we had the personal that could compete...

The one thing about his offenses that drove a lot of folks nuts was all the play changing at the line...some times it seemed the QB would look to the sideline and he and Sanders would go through 3-4 different play calls while the clock was ticking...

the line would get set and then the QB would check out of it, everyone would have to look to the sideline for the call then get back in position again...a lot of unnecessary movement...

He was at UK for 7 years nan, 7..

How was Morgan Newton shoved down his throat? Newton only played as a freshman because Hartline got hurt. Only started the bowl game his sophomore year when Hartline was suspended. Was benched after 3 or 4 games as a junior and moved to TE as a senior.

He got hurt in the miss state game. Joker had no choice after that to go to maxwell smith who had a solid game in relief. I don't think starting Newton was Sanders idea. And I was a Newton supporter!

Still laughing at "shoved down his throat" as if those 4 games ruined Randy Sanders.

I think Sanders is a really solid QB coach. I suspect he's also pretty good OC. The biggest obstacle to overcome at UK was Joker's offense, which was very complicated and required the QB to retain a huge amount of knowledge - pass routes, blocking schemes, checkoff options, etc. Many times, Joker stated that it took 3 years in 'his' offense to really get a grasp on it. That wasn't on Sanders that 2nd and 3rd year QBs looked inept and confused. That was how difficult it was to run the offense.

Now, the question of 'could we get him to come back?' Why would he? He's making as much or more at FSU where he'll get at least a notice for other HC jobs coming available if that's what he wants to do. Can't see any benefit to Sanders to return to UK.

I actually think Sanders would make a better Head Coach than OC or QBC. Just has that temperament.
