in the post-game stans said that he was putting out so much effort defensively that he probably didn't have a lot of energy left on offense. that doesn't excuse him taking all those shots, but he did a nice job of guarding their best player.

and yet he is just off from being the team's leading scorer at 12.2ppg. and more importantly, he isnt going AI on the team by getting the points thru jacking up an absurd number of shots. he is currently shooting 46.5% overall, and 45.8% from beyond the arc.

and yes, these stats do include the awful shooting night he had at St Bonaventure. so even with that very off night, he still has excellent shooting percentages all around.
2.2rpg and 1.6spg added onto his offense numbers...i personally dont think he sucks.

call me nuts, but i just dont see how a perimeter shooter who is barely second on the team in scoring, shooting 46.5% overall and 45.8% from deep is a player who sucks. kinda seems like a player with those stats would be valued...especially adding in his experience and leadership.

he is in big games. I will not be fooled by his 45.6% versus crap teams. I have seen the inconsistent Randy too many times to forget. He sucks!!!

i also remember how he came up big for us in many games.
the guy isnt JJ at Duke or Morrison at Gonzaga...he isnt that clutch. but not being that clutch also doesnt mean he sucks. his stats show otherwise, even if you choose to ignore them.

in his freshman year...the 13 against Charlotte, the 22 against Miami on the road, 12 against OM, 16 in a close UF loss, etc.
last season, 24 against Mizzou, 18 agaisnt Miami, 16 at Bama, 21 against Tennessee, 13 against Bama, 19 against Arkansas, etc.

there were plenty of more games where he scored high and made obvious(to some) impact on the games, but the ones i highlighted were games where he scored above his average in close wins or close losses. so his higher than average scoring on the day either helped us win the games, or kept us close and gave us a chance to win.

now, i know those are more stats, and from the last post, its obvious you like to just dismiss stats...but these numbers show he has contributed over his average in tough close games against solid competition.

I dont think Barry is bad. Just last season he had that major slump he succumbed to and that was very painful to watch him shoot airbal after airball. But really if he keeps his confidence running his offense makes a huge difference along with his defense and experience. We need him out there badly because we have too many younger guys committing mistakes already on the court.
