How would you rank SEC baseball programs? Use whatever criteria you'd like. For example, you could heavily weigh on-campus attendance records.

I tried to weigh NCAA tournament success:
  1. LSU
  2. South Carolina
  3. Florida
  4. Mississippi State
  5. Vanderbilt
  6. Arkansas
  7. Texas A&M
  8. Ole Miss
  9. Missouri
  10. Georgia
  11. Auburn
  12. Tennessee
  13. Alabama
  14. Kentucky

There’s 2 categories for programs in the SEC. Fanbases/athletic departments that care about baseball- which is the top 8 you listed, minus Florida(they’ve had success, but ultimately their fanbase doesn’t care). And then you have 9-14 + Florida. Programs like Tennessee & UK will be good as long as they hold onto their current coaches, but once they leave they will slip back into apathy.

UAT has a greater winning percentage vs us.
Just saying since you have them so low.
And they’ve played for a Natty.

LSU

South Car / Vandy / Florida / MSU / Arkansas

A&M / OM / Tenn

Alabama / Georgia / Auburn

Missouri / Kentucky

I was surprised to hear MSU had a losing record all time against Alabama. It was basically tied, but like 208-203

As I have said in a previous thread, no matter what the sport, we see the word Alabama on a uniform, we often run and hide.

There's really only four fan bases that deeply care, I'll rank them in order, State/LSU/Ark/OM.

I'd drop Arkansas down with A&M / OM / Tenn.
They haven't had any post season success, they've just been really good lately and their fanbase cares a whole lot.
Other than that, this is the correct tier system imo

I find interesting that Kentucky, the projected #1 national seed this week by D1, is ranked dead last or near it so consistently here. Interesting, not wrong.

There're programs, there are teams with advantages and there are teams with great coaches. For me it's...

True Programs

LSU
Mississippi State
Arkansas
South Carolina

Teams with Advantages/Great Coaches/History

Florida
Vanderbilt
Ole Miss
Texas A&M
Georgia
Alabama
Auburn
Tennessee

Teams completely dependent on a dynamic coach

Kentucky
Missouri

A few in the 2nd category may be great programs, but until they sustain it for multiple decades under more than one or two great coaches, it's a question.

People are severly under-ranking Florida
1 natty
3 college world series runner ups (more than US)
13 trips to the college world series (more than US)
15 straight regional trips (more than US)
9 SEC championships in the last 30 years, throw in 2 other SEC tourney ships for good measure. (more than US)

Also for the people that rank SC so high, Vanderbilt's run over the last decade plus has been just as good if not better than SC's. Their histories are very similar as well.

And the vast majority of their fan base gives not one single ****.

That's not a program. It's a school with a huge regional advantage, and currently with a great coach.

Now get on with your 17 paragraph rebuttal that I won't read.

every school in the SEC below Kentucky and Mizzou has a regional advantage.

For a program that doesnt care, and all that blabber you spouted. They are on par with us or better in nearly every category

Natty: 1 and 1
Runner up: 3 for them 1 for us
CWS apperances: 13 for them, 12 for us
38 regionals for them, 39 for us
7 tourney champs a piece
16 regular season champs for them, 17 for us
Our run the past 7-8 years was great, theirs since 2010 has been better and more sustained

Pretty much eye for an eye.

I'd go:
Tier 1: LSU
Tier 1.5: Florida
Tier 2: South Carolina, MSU, Vandy
Tier 3: Arkansas, Texas AM, Ole Miss
Tier 4: Georgia, Alabama, Auburn
Tier 5; Tennessee
Tier 6: Kentucky, Mizzou

Probably the most fair list in this thread.

These clowns that spout tradition and fan support and blinded by that **** that ultimately doesn’t matter. Super regional ticket sales don’t win you a natty.

And every program that wins a natty, does it in front of a huge crowd in Omaha, NEBRASKA so what the hell does it matter if Vandy, florida or TN have 10 fans in the stands. Each of those has accomplished as much or more than MSU in baseball.

Arkansas has been way more consistent than LSU over the past decade, even though that hasn't led to a title. Arkansas is the best program in the SEC under DVH, &, if it weren't for Carson Shaddy dropping a popup, that would be clear

My poll is based on which program I actually think is the best RIGHT now & in the past 5 years. Not factoring in historical success that doesn't really matter.

1. Arkansas
2. Tennessee
3.. LSU, MSU, Florida, Vandy
4. A&M
5. Ole Miss, Auburn
6.. Kentucky, South Carolina, Alabama
7. Georgia
8. Mizzou

Interesting to bring this up in a baseball thread. We haven’t lost a baseball series to Bama since 2015. And have won 11 of 12 series against them since 2012.
