so this list is quite useless as with pretty much all other belly whining over the program.

Pretty sure no other school would give a coach like Brown an extension for being around .500 and then the leeway to just drive the program endlessly into an abyss. Sounds like a pretty sweet gig to me.

Each one of those teams have had poor seasons in long stretches. But their coaches get fired.

List of current teams that fire a lot of coaches.

Texas (3 coaching hires in ten years)
Florida (hasn't had a top winner since Steve Spurrier)
Miami (7 coaches from 2007 to 2022)
FSU (3 coaching hires since 2018)
UCLA (4 coaching hires since 2011)
VT (3 hires from 2016-2022)

I'm sure others have had similar failures.

Good for him.

Urban Myer never stayed anywhere long enough.

Florida has sucked since he ran out on them.
By Florida standards perhaps, however Dan Mullen had three straight years where they finished in the top 15 and two of those they were in the top 10. That was in 2020 so not long ago. 2021 was a rough start and he got fired.

My wife is a Florida alum and she would agree with you, however I'd kill to complain about finishing in the top 10, top 15 :)...

Dan Mullen should be our next coach
I'd love it, however I imagine he will seek a bigger job. His name has been rumored to Ga Tech. who some have said he has no interest. His recruiting ties are in the South, so I would imagine he stays there.

I don’t know why any top notch Power 5 college or NFL coach would not jump at the chance to be the head man of the WVU football program which such loyal and supportive fans.

A few reasons. One money. Power 5 successful coaches are in 6 million range. Another is NIL money. We just can't compete with the big boys.

Play in the SEC and have the correct name and you can finish top 15 with a 7-5 record.

Ha ha! A 7-5 record in the SEC is tougher than winning 10 games in the Big 12. What is your definition of "relevant" if you say Florida wasn't relevant with two top 10 finishes and a top 15. Hell one was a top 5 I believe.

The SEC is really that much better. All you have to do is look at the NFL. Alabama, Florida, and LSU have more than the entire Big 12 combined. And that's not even including UGA who has but 20+ in the league last two years alone.

Then go pick yourself an SEC team and enjoy.

I got my MBA at UGA and have a daughter who is a verbal for softball at Arkansas so yeah I'm already engrained in the SEC culture. Makes things a little easier as our program continues to go into the *******.

Freshman year was 93' so definitely enjoyed some great moments.
