That Snoop snippet floating around w/ that Just Blaze track sounds like they found it in a box marked '1994' underneath Death Row Studios. o_O

What I wouldn't give for him to release one more album w/ that Dogg Pound sound.

-DJ Pain 1 produced that 50/Q track whoever tf that is.

Get rich or die trying is a fn staple. Shutup. And it happened in early 2000. Probably sold more than your favorite rappers entire catalog. In the first year.

Congrats, gents. You have taken this thread to my world again. The Golden Age. When I come back home, I seek out the underrated tracks and collabs. Mos Def feat. Pharoahe Monch and Nate Dogg. "Oh No". Nate sounds the exact same on every verse he has ever spit, but man, you KNEW it was a Nate Dogg verse! And Pharoahe killed his verse, as usual.

When **** was lagging at a party (or any damn where for that matter), any DJ worth his name would put "Ante Up" on the wheels of steel and **** got to poppin' again. M.O.P.

My hip hop days mostly go 86-96. Things started to change and I didn't. I'll take that era over any era.

You know why rappers rarely get better with age? Because that hunger and realness is gone after a few big time paychecks. That's why the great ones do last because it isn't just rough gutter type lyrics.

That is why No Limit was done for pretty quick. How many bout it bout it millionaires do you know? 0 is the answer.

I always felt like it was the loss of Beats by the Pound and a general over saturation of their product.

^ correct on both accounts.

Master P has an estimated worth of around 400 Million, and is still raking in millions per year...I'd say that qualifies as a "bout it bout it millionaire", but that's just me.

I always thought it was, yaknow, the general lack of lyrical ability that did in the NO boys, as well as their fast lifestyles.

Lol I didn't know about this? I wish y'all mf'ers would buy music so we could have budgets like this again.

Styles P is a rare rapper who got much better with age, imo. He's loved two very different lifestyles and that is reflected in his subject matter as he aged.

Plus his flow is silly. Does it the same way Jay does, tbh. Just flows and then edits later as needed. Easy to do when you have something to say.

I'm listening to DPG, Tony Yayo and Dru mfn Hill on Nore's podcast....let that sink in a moment, and then ask yourself why you're not listening to the greatest, the only, rap podcast.

Very first subject is DJ mustard biting Daz's style, and Daz doesn't appreciate it. Sounds like record label stuff. Both signed to Sony and Sony is giving Mustard Daz's ****, or something, and I don't think mustard has given him credit...sounds like a drake type of deal. Wtf is up with these new guys. Smh....

They used 50% of his **** for some song and he wants his 50%....lol, good luck guy.

Kurupt really from another planet.

Daz produced Ambitions of a Rider....arguably the greatest beat of all time.

I did not know. I assume he has all kinds of heat.

The line "She told me she liked Master P and Montell occasionally" always cracked me up for some reason.

Saying DJ Mustard bit Daz style is an insult to Daz...Mustard's formula sounds nothing like the golden era Daz. I'm sure Daz is bitter that he never got the commercial appeal or $$$ that Mustard is getting though, he's been **** on/slept on his entire career. Now, he may have not given credit to some joint work of late, dunno.

Daz produced, or had a hand in pretty much everything from Death Row and that entire era, even the stuff "produced" by Dre.

Leave the summer & DPG to me, you should focus on NYC, winter raps are your thing. Glad you are "learning" though, you have a long way to go. Daz & Kurupt have about 274 albums out there for your enjoyment.

Ambitions of a Rider was a gangstafied spin on a Peewee Herman track...or something involving Peewee Herman. Themesong? Idk, but it was inspired by peewee sounds that they took and made gangster. That's gangsta af

Shutup Adrian. You always taking that west west but you bring the whackest sounds ever from that coast. It DPG has allll that heat, then why ain't you promoting it.

Let's go. Hottest DPG tracks.

But first...

Lmao....called this one from a mile away, tbh. What a fraud.

Is he on YG's new ****? Or is he strictly on that bubblegum R&B ****?

No Mustard on this one, DJ Swish handled most of it, with some help from Dre & others -- and it's that old classic West sound. :fire:

Start with Dogg Food, it's a 'press play' album, an absolute classic. I could list the entire tracklist, but not necessary.

Kurupt's best album is "Streez is a Mutha", followed by "Space Boogie"

Daz best album is "Revenge, Retaliation..."

...and Kurupt's joint album w/ DJ Quik from a few years back still gets rotation from me.

They put out wayyyyyyyyyyyy too much stuff these days, and most of it is sad & desperate throwaway stuff.

Not my favorite (but I love it) but if there is one track that personifies the Daz sound, it's this one.

So is DJ swish the real DJ mustard? I won't let you live this down. I just hope you learned a valuable lesson.

Seems to me, Daz and kurupt were the creative influence for a lot of ****. I assume Suge financially F'd them over pretty good?

Daz just said when he went to sue Sony about Mustard they have him back rights to all his published ****, basically admitting guilt, so maybe he's going to get some deserved money.

One of these days I'm gonna smoke moon rocks.

Fredwreck is a badass, he produced the entire Space Boogie album. He came closer to the old school Dre sound than anyone...now, he just travels around Italy per his IG & Twitter.

You had no clue who 'Fred' even was.

Yep krazy, that's another track that screams Daz from the first second.

Okay, so here's my favorite DPG track. Pretty much checks every BBdK "West Coast Classic" box

1.) Fart bass. Check
2.) Sirens. Check
3.) Summertime Vibe. Check
4.) Bonus Nate Dogg. Check.
