5 Finger Death Punch is the GD Walmart of heavy metal.

Back on topic:

Lol at Young Joc. I remember him from a decade ago.

I just peeped this for the first time yesterday. It's old AF, but pretty dope. Thoughts, Paddock rap crew?

Perfectly okay with that. Pretty sure I said it was to push weight not impress anyone with my music appreciation 101 class.

Carry on with your discussion of who's the best rapper of 2016 mid 30s white insurance agents and sales guys.

Got a chuckle out of that. Reminds me of the time a med student asked me the typical "Biggie or Tupac" question. When I answered Nas....he was dumbfounded.

So, rap heads. Who spit the best guest verse you've ever heard? I'm spoiled. AZ's verse on "Life's a *****" is the standard I compare every other "featuring" MC to.

As far as the ladies go, nothing compares to Left Eye's stealing Donnell Jones' entire track with HER guest verse on "U Know What's Up".

You can skip to 2:29 if you just want to hear LE's verse!

Dope. That first beat is bananas.

Shyne used it in 2000 with Bad Boy Ent. Shynes first (and only real) album was dope. He was gonna be pretty solid, then Diddy things happened, shyne went to jail and became a Hasidic Jew.

I'm actually trying to count the number of rappers Diddy used up like Kleenex. Craig Mack and Black Rob are the two most obvious, but I'm working my brain coming up with the long list of others.

That's a hard question ghost and one I can't answer...but I'll try and think of stuff. Eminem would have something. Raekwon. Ghostface. Biggie.

The only rappers I can think of that prospered and are still cool with diddy are The Lox....Who are amazing (except sheek...sorry, but you're still LOX)

Lol nvm I thought you said verse

I'd have to think some more. People like to say eminem killed Jay on renegade....and he def did like Nas said. Jay said some good things, but he stumbled out the gate and was a bit clumsy. Eminem just moonwalked all over the beat.

*technically that's Puff's song feat BIG and Busta, tho

Big and Eminem. Final answer.

I remember Shyne. I had that album back in the day on a burnt CD. People expected big things from him. Had no idea how he ended up.

Time to expand the horizons a bit. Nappy Roots. Straight out of Bowling Green, KY. Big V and Prophet are doing solo stuff now, but me being me, I'm partial to the tracks that weren't released...and that verse "I'm so hungry I can eat a dyke" amused me to no end!

Apologies for this being a couple pages old, but I went to WKU in the late 90s-early 2000s. I smoked blunts with Scales and Skinny Deville at a keg party in 99 and they were talking about getting a deal from Atlantic.(I thought they were bullshitting at first) I also remember buying the AwNaw single for $3 in the parking lot of a Junior Foods store near WKU's campus. I ran into various members at bars post-fame and one of my friends was a part of their "street team" and so we got a bunch of cheap merch. They were all really cool dudes. Glad they had success.

Some pre-fame Nappy:

It was a good CD. Diddy F'd up. Shyne was a throwback NYC gritty and raw during a time (2000) when Yung Joc type **** ruled the airwaves...

Yung Joc was Bad Boy South Ent. No wonder he disappeared lmao.

8ball and MJG dropped an album on Bad Boy South. It was good. Diddy ain't gonna let you not have some heat, but I feel like he's not gonna let you have the money you hoped for...which is the story of the music business.

Kendrick jumping on Control was big, hard to nail down just one though.

All of the Nappy Roots guys are good people. Funny story about Vito one night at GoodTymes a club that used to be over on the Bypass. Vito was in there yapping and these head busters from Miami was there. Told him they would be waiting for him by his car when he got ready to leave. **** just about got real, and Vito stayed inside,,, pretty smart decision.

The new Chance album is the best rap album I've heard this year. Phenomenal on the first listen and only gets better. Groovy and extremely soulful. Same Drugs, Angels, All Night. Cot damn.

Chance reminds me so much of early kanye but he can rap better then ye. Musically and thematically.

LOLLL

Y'all need to get out of my rap thread and never return.

Listen to this **** with your ears.

Gd. Will y'all please pay for music so people can have budgets and create real works of art instead of this scrappy free-range hipster ******** made on a bus, spit by mf'ers who sound like someone is holding a gun to their head. Loosen your belt, drink some water. Deep breathe. Holy cow. Maybe take some voice lessons. This is not open mic at the poetry spot. Gd.

Havoc just dropped a 11 track ALC produced project - Silent Partners. [thumb2]

Too Short sits down with NORE for 2 hours of drunk stories on Drink Champs.

Great week for hip hop.

Speaking of Too Short, I kinda dig that new Payroll Giovanni (lololol) & Cardo project. He sounds kinda like him, imo. Doughboy Cashout dude w/ a little tape. If you like old school Detroit stuff, it's kinda cool summer music. Beats bang, Cardo is :fire:

I'm going to google that stuff against my better judgments just so I can clown you like those dudes who came here pimping that chance crap.

Havoc needs features. Flow is mad elementary and monotonous.

If y'all never heard the Albert Einstein album ALC did with Prodigy, you need some of that.

Buck 50 with Method Man is stupid, tho.

Overall, it's a weak project. Too much floating sounds and havoc has nothing to wrap about. A few plus hits.

I like Boldy James. That album he did with ALC is grimy af.

Does the rapper featuring someone have to be a classic?

Eazy E here

Tupac on Digital Underground

Then of course(does this even really count?)

Well Easy E found Bone Thugs, and Tupac was a dancer for Digital Underground. Seems pretty normal they would hop on each others tracks. But a lot of times, even guys like Kendrick Lamar and Jay Z when they are just coming up, record bigs will throw them on somebody established track to get them noticed before they do a project. Kind of gives everyone a intro into who they are.

Didn't see all that as something to leave out in original "featured" comparison.

That's a lot of red tape.

Well you brought up Eminem on Renegade which is classic well known that Em destroyed Jay on that record.

TI even spoke on it once saying you reach out to good rappers to have a challenge to step your game up but Eminem better have asked permission to cut like that on Jay.

Said when Andre was on his record he knew he had to come with and wanted to tell Andre not to crush him on the record but how you going to tell Andre that.

I don't agree with the last two posts.

That Too Short interview was dope. It's so hilarious how simple and elementary the Pimp Game is to Too Short.

I learned there are junior hoes and super hoes.

If you're a real pimp, the ***** will pay you 5-10k just to join your team.

I learned a lot.

*too short did a ton of work. I don't think the industry was fond of him.

One of them classic joints. Never gets old. Timeless music.....with instruments!!!!!!! Lmao

^ Much better. You should stick w/ this LA/Memphis stuff for awhile until Fall comes back around.

Nobody cares about your slow/dark/grimy/choppy lyric-based raps when the windows are down. Learn the seasons, it's time for grooves.
