Lmao I knew that mf'er almost quit. Also, it's not a good sign when singles get released, then they wait for the buzz, they release another single, then maybe make a video for that, then push album back, then release another single, etc...

Is Kendrick done? Might as well, imho. Couple more years go by and I *will* start calling him one of the most overrated GOATS. He's probabaly got an absolute heater coming, though. He did his Grammy ****, and he could probably do a gangster album and still win grammies with all the juice he's got.

Man I want him on *gangster* beats. Crippin *** beats. He deserves it, imo.

Uhhhhh, that Cole x Kendrick thing was supposedly coming like first quarter of this year. Totally forgot about that, thank god lmao. You think that died? I never understood why Kendrick would do that, but he does what he wants.

Mf'ers don't rap for fun anymore, and it's a shame. Kurupt will be rappin and crippin in his grave, tbh. Snoop. Daz will be punching keys in his grave. Like that's all they know. Rap was a sport. These young mf'ers really ain't ****, and that's not all their fault. Game is just different.

I don't really listen to Kendrick, tbh. So maybe he has some gangster heat idk about.

Why wouldn't you listen to Kendrick...b/c he's "known" now? You know how dope he is, so I can't think of any other reason why you wouldn't listen to him, or have gone back to see his entire catalogue for yourself.

You're really stupid/stubborn sometimes.

He's a conscious rapper and I like straight ignorance, or conscious ignorance. Gangster music is my fav, and he ain't that.

He's a better J Cole.

The Game and Snoop Dogg are leading a peaceful march in LA....

Truth ✊. Bz n Cz. Unite. https://t.co/QODUVpYH8R https://t.co/Wi4ua3xPS1

I got a real problem with that ********, uncle snoop. You are supposed to be for the kids!!!!!!

I'll respect whatever side he wants to advocate for, because it doesn't matter to me one bit, but you can't play both sides. As media are covering the "peaceful march" I wonder if they covered the non peaceful stuff he said yesterday.

Agree, but he can let loose a little. Two of his favorite songs of mine, probably THE two are pretty mindless (for him):

:fire::fire::fire:

Money Trees...

...if/when he does his "fun" album, shew wee.

J.Cole is so damn popular -- it's weird. Like, he's right under Drake for the masses. He's a good rapper I guess, and has good production, but I just don't like his songs all that much.

I do REALLY like one, though. Maybe the key is getting a regular dumb rapper on it, idk, but this **** is smooth as hell.

Shout to Canei Finch for this and 'Westside' above, which both featured Jeezy. Too bad he can never get his samples cleared, he's really good at sampling soul beats. Both were scheduled for GKMC and whatever Cole's signature album was.

I HATE when my favorite song off an upcoming album doesn't make the album. Lots of times it's sampling issues or something w/ the feature artists, but WTF didn't 'I Wanna Benz' make Still Brazy? That song is :fire: Probably 50's fault somehow.

Man, that Wayne intro on that new Drama tape is :fire::fire::fire: Mixtape Weezy w/ a rare appearance...and rapping over a siren beat? Shew, **** bangs. Best I've heard him in years...

Quality street music. Guess I need to hear.

It's criminal that Khaled is getting so much hype when DJ Drama has done his thing so consistently for so long.

I found this in a wack mixtape....

To me, it sounds like a harry Fraud and juicy collabo...or all Fraud as a tribute to juice as it has his signature sounds on there...but it also has the chants and the signature juice soul sounds fused with horror....which is no doubt my absolute favorite sounds on earth. So cinematic. The layers. I rode around for like 30 minutes after I found this. Just vibing. Shouts to Fraud, a real student of the game.

^ sick. Wish Juicy would go back to this...he sounds terrible over all those 808 Mafia casio beats. He has no business or need to ride that wave, pretty confusing.

Not really a fan of Drama's tape after that intro...he should have done better. Bunch of weirdos on there, seems like he's trying to maybe get some exposure to his people? Haven't even heard of most of those guys.

There is a Gibbs track on there for you.

-Oh, and Gucci new album is terrible. He's had some moments and I respect his hustle, but will never understand the worship (of his actual music).

You can stfu with the Gucci slander. Gibbs, fine. He is mismanaged, imo.

He has no business or need to ride that wave, pretty confusing.

He has all the business $$$$$ riding that wave. He's a genius. Yea, it sucks, but he's never been more popular. 3-6 could never be this popular. 3-6 quit, Juice went mainstream and did things I never really thought he did. He's been all over the charts. Katy Perry. He formed some group with Wiz, gained a whole new fanbase who really loves his rapping (lol...he sucks. He's not a good rapper at all, but that's part of it). It's cool to rap like juicy j...no flow, all methodical and just not meshing with the music yaknow. Like Big Sean or some ****. Anyway, Juicy used his marketing, talent, and hustle to take advantage of this weird new music world. Him and 3-6 were a pioneer of this mixtape **** from way back, anyway. That's all juice knows. It's pretty dam remarkable. He won't ever get his due till he's gone like some pimp c. He's a magician, mane.

But, yea, it sucks. Those 3-6 days are over, but you get gems every now and then. Probably more than I realize because the ***** so spread out in mixtapes that I haven't listened to. Again, Juicy has to put out more work than anybody. He is truly the pioneer of all this **** we're seeing right now, and I think it's cool he's cashing in. He's built for this type of crap...for better or worse.

Lmao! Like this...intro is legendary. When did this come out?

So it's uncool when any other rapper does it, but as long as it's one of your favorites, you're cool with it.

Got it

Name some producers/rappers doing what Juice did/does. Name the ones that were hot in the early 90's. I'll wait.

Hint: not Mannie

....which isn't fair at all for obvious reasons, but I gotta put this in terms you might understand.

They have been talking about Cole and Kendrick for yearsssss. Means it's a) lame af, or b) ain't happening.

Here's a classic smooth Summer Jam for you, that's a little off the radar, from a sleeper classic (for me) album -- some real standouts on that one. Couple of Brooklyn dudes with a bit of a West Coast sound.:fire:

Enjoying the tracks y'all are dropping. I figured out that if I don't prejudge/compare the new stuff to what I came up on...it's really pretty good, all things considered.

Gained some more love for Too Short during my trip out west. Mf'er is so on point, so in pocket, it's crazy. Legend for sure. It ain't complicated. It's entertainment. Now, I couldn't binge listen to Short, but damn is he original and on point. Always.

I kind of hate e40 tho. I respect it, but he's nails on a chalkboard to me. Funny guy, tho.

That's accurate.

Snoop Dogg is on Drink Champs right now. Best thing in rap. Go learn this podcast. I'm telling y'all....

Last week during the monumental 2 part 50 cent interview I learned Puff Daddy tried to sway young 50 cent to bad boy by saying "you wanna go shopping? I'm buying" and 50 gtfo quick. Lmao. He said that was one of the weirdest things anybody has said to him, and called puff a fruitcake. Also, Vivica ate 50's ***.

It's really a great look at the industry.

Raekwon was the most legendary so far, imo. That's dude is exactly the way he raps. The most cool luxurious fly *** gangster there ever was, and super humble.

People don't rap like this. They can't. That **** that just flies off his head is crazy. Organic like. Like he's sleep talking.

Surgical gloves samples Castle Walls by Styxx....but it ain't the obvious sample that's been used a few places. That first part you hear...man I've heard that more than a few places. ****, was that in the Scarface theme song?

Idk, I was going back to look at Dre's involvement with OB4CL2 trying to poke BBdK by saying that was his last real great work, but it wasn't.. He only got one track on there, I was thinkjng he had more. Pete rock, Marley Marl, RZA, alc, scram jones, Raekwon's in-house team, and j Dilla crushed that album. Def the last good thing RZA did.

Cormega - what about him?

This dude is pretty amazing. I always thought he was a Nas light, not in a disrespectful way, he was damn close. He absolutely deserves to be on that level of MC's. I never knew the history, tho. NORE has an interview in about to listen to.

But it appears, via wiki, that Cormega didn't play that label bullsjit and he was basically ignored by the industry, and he took out some of his frustrations against Nas. Not a good business strategy. Regardless, I think I need to listen to all this guy's albums because he might have some of the most thorough production ever. I need to study more, but this guy, because he diskt play that ****, seems to have nothing but respect.

Was he a really big deal in the mid 90's, or ever? I guess he was known for beefing with Nas. Decent accomplishment, I suppose.

Cormega is considered by those from there as the heart of QB. He does not consider himself this. He was highly connected outside of the rap game and was actually the influence for Nas, according to many in Queens.

I would have never known based on commercial success. He just didn't play the label stuff. He owned all his **** and looked out for #1, and he's a legend largely because of that.

I wonder how much **** Nas owns?

Best interviews I've ever heard - KRS One and Cormega. These dudes is crazy smart.
