Ya think DJ Paul just wanted to let the other guys clear the decks, then he stepped up and said "THIS is how it's done"? Not many guys can say they originated a genre...Paul can.

What is up with the new crop of rappers? Either the drugs they're on are really good or they're not all there.

Desiigner
Kodak Black
Lil Yachty
Post Malone
Lil Uzi Vert
D.R.A.M.

There's just something off with all of them. It's quite an accomplishment when this guy seems the most normal:

Where he at?

What happened to that Jcole x Kendrick?

And what happened to that last J Cole album?

This is true. Idk, but he had some difficulties coming into the new age. Unlike juicy who fully embraced the wackness of the new age and got that money, props to him. It's just paul just made classic beats and got a rapper like Dave East on it. Juicy can f with that, he gets wiz Khalifa and 2 chainz on his 808 mafia watered down *****. Whatever.

Speaking of, Paul should shoot 808 mafia. Every one of those clowns for a) sucking *** and making light of a sound he perfected and b) using the word mafia. GTFO.

You take these new Paul beats and put Gucci Mane on it. Put fn Uzi Vert on it, and Paul would be the only thing going because then the kids would realize what a real beat is, and that 808 **** couldn't stand up to that.

BUT now that Paul appears to be interested again, I have to think him and Juicy will cook something up. Be dumb not to.

Sweet sounds of Classic Juice Mane

Raekwon has album coming this year. Art work is stupid. Should be much better than his last one, imo....although he still gave us gems like this

I'm not even talking about their rapping. The Kodak interview with The Breakfast Club makes him look like one of the dumbest humans alive.

This. The beat sets up the verse, not the other way around. I've seen wack tracks get salvaged by a bomb *** beat.

saw him open for Drake in Nashville in 2012 when no one knew who him be, but I knew who him be. Dude was great.
I knew who he was Jason. I watched him in Louisville in march of 2012 and he was solid then too.

2 anus probably said that and that's false.

I just cannot subscribe to the idea that's he's the GOAT. He doesn't even have the catalogue to enter that discussion. Might could be, def has that ability, but he needs to put it down on wax.

Ie: he can't even enter a discussion with 2pac or Snoop, DPG...maybe Mr. West West can help articulate this point better than me...

...and we can discuss technical ability and what if Kendrick had 5 albums, but he doesn't. Till he has the work, he cannot be compared to GOATs with catalogues to back them up. Idgaf about his poltical views or Grammies. Don't gaf about a mixtape. Dude made 1 album as far as I'm concerned, then retired/sold out. I think his butterfly thing sold more overseas than it did in US. Compare that to eminem for example, can you imagine if he laid up after Slim Shady? LOL, and em still gets **** on.

Plus his rap name is his government name.

/drops mic

Idgaf about any discussion relating Kendrick to certified bonafide GOATS. Just enjoy what he did, but he doesn't have the work to enter that discussion.

Now, battle rapper? Hell yea. Dude viscous, he could seemingly rip anyone. Unreal talent.

And I don't want to mention the plethora of totally whack and indefensible pop features he did with everybody because that's just embarrassing. I feel bad for that. I assume he had to do that to satisfy contract agreements or something. Idk. Don't want to know. That's too sad.

Old guy, here.

I was a huge Three 6 fan back in the day. Are Paul and Juciy still cool or is there beef because Paul kept it street and Juicy went mainstream?

There's no beef. Just seems to be differing personalities, imo. Juicy went mainstream and got hip with the kids - something I wouldn't have thought possible, but he did it, and seemed to make a lot of money doing it.

I think Paul basically retired for a bit. Certainly didn't want to follow juicy into new territory. But his personality is a bit different.

I also wonder how the business side worked out for Three Six. Did Paul produce more and get more money during their run? I believe he's a bigger piece to the production side. Idk, but I kind of get the vibe that Paul is set financially, and not willing to ***** himself out for easy cash...

Which Juice probably is to a degree, but he's certainly more about the hustle and getting money by any means necessary. Him and Pat.

But man Paul and Juice were the yin to each other's yang. Their personalities are different, skills different, but they complimented each other well. I think juice work ethic probably helped get the most out of Paul's ability. Juice had the vision, the determination and more marketability to help that group shine.

If they don't do another album I think it would be sad. I didn't think another album would ever be possible till I heard the latest DJ Paul stuff. He seems motivated again.

False. Untitled/Unmastered was ****.

His next record needs to be his 'fun' one, West Coasty sounds, vibes, etc. He's one of the few people who could pull that off while still having great raps. Just getting a little too serious, conscious, and political for my tastes.

-Those DJ Paul (who I love) beats above suck, btw. Still Gettin was cool, rest were the Same slow *** sound as 808, just a little more skill involved.

Thanks for clearing that up, Mash.

I also suggest Paul's YouTube cooking show. It's awesome.

Lol, I need to watch the cooking show. Here's a great interview with Paul. Explains a lot.

How he and Juicy each had their own clubs while they were living with their mama? Maybe I misunderstood and they were just the DJ's at those clubs, but he called it Paul's Playhouse and Juicy's somethinnother...these mf'ers rich as hell.

I don't know why, maybe it's the violence, but for example, and I don't wanna do this, but UGK ain't nothing compared to three six. You're talking 100 albums like Paul said. Just different leagues. But they will never get their due, and that's cool. Paul dgaf, they can live off 1990 show money if they have to. As a fan, I just want them to get the spotlight they deserve, like UGk did, but I understand they ain't really spotlight friendly, or even want to accept the spotlight. Compared to a personality like Pimp Chad who wanted allllllll the glory all the fame and whatnot.

*only problem with the new Paul tracks is he's on the hooks, vocals, etc. But that's the first true three six sound to come out in a long time. And listening to that interview, I have to think losing 4 friends/family members in 2 years played a role in that "down" time.

If you don't listen to three six, don't speak on it. Tia

# of Albums has nothing to do with anything when making comparisons once you're established. E40 has 278 albums, is he the Goat?

I'd entertain arguments for both groups, legends -- but "different leagues" & "UGK aint nothing compared to" = No.

Also don't think UGK got any more spotlight than Three 6. I mean, they have an Oscar. 'Spotlight' Exceptions are the Big Pimpin video and Pimp C dying...maybe. But UGK wasn't some sort of commercial wonder, by any stretch.

You're reaching.

Lol nope.

Pimp C dying...maybe? Ya think?

I don't agree with anything you said. The commercial success bun received after pimp alone and what that did for him in terms of the new generation was huge.

Maybe you can compare juice to that, but new juice solo ain't three six.

# albums absolutely does. It's why Kendrick can't be in the same convo of working legends like 2pac....to keep it on the west and more comparable on that weakass scale of that coast.

Pimp and bun get more recognition/respect now than three six. Every f-boi rapper even mentions pimp c. Ain't nobody shout out dj Paul.

Probably bc they were on all those MTV things you listed, and three six raps corny. Plus pimp died. Crunchy black. Etc etc

Smh. Stupid.

Name a rapper more in-pocket than raekwon?

- jadakiss never stepped out of pocket but he ain't on that skill level.

I think Rae just turned 50.

I read some conceding rap news about Jay z. He reached out to....Zaytoven. Told him to bring the strings and horns lmao. Oh my. I heard Jay is having twins so maybe he needs more money. Don't understand this one bit. It won't work, imo. Zaytoven.

I wreck a Zay track befo I wreck a Dre track - Gucci Mane

Lol just google Zaytoven and JayZ. It's so disrespectful. Honkies are blogging like Zay is the attraction here and even called it a "joint album" like Zaytoven ain't the producer lmao.

How in the world did Jay lose so much respect. This ain't right. F'er needs to get with NEW YORK CITY and get his beats right. This is sad.

What’s so crazy is I always looked at Jay Z and guys on the caliber of Jay Z like they just the big dogs. I didn’t think they listen to my music or even know who I am,”

LOL damn right, Zay ain't stupid. Get that money young boi.
