Kendrick
Ya think DJ Paul just wanted to let the other guys clear the decks, then he stepped up and said "THIS is how it's done"? Not many guys can say they originated a genre...Paul can.
^ it's cool to rap ****** like you're too high to talk. Whatever. They gay as hell.
Where he at?
What happened to that Jcole x Kendrick?
And what happened to that last J Cole album?
This is true. Idk, but he had some difficulties coming into the new age. Unlike juicy who fully embraced the wackness of the new age and got that money, props to him. It's just paul just made classic beats and got a rapper like Dave East on it. Juicy can f with that, he gets wiz Khalifa and 2 chainz on his 808 mafia watered down *****. Whatever.
Speaking of, Paul should shoot 808 mafia. Every one of those clowns for a) sucking *** and making light of a sound he perfected and b) using the word mafia. GTFO.
You take these new Paul beats and put Gucci Mane on it. Put fn Uzi Vert on it, and Paul would be the only thing going because then the kids would realize what a real beat is, and that 808 **** couldn't stand up to that.
BUT now that Paul appears to be interested again, I have to think him and Juicy will cook something up. Be dumb not to.
Sweet sounds of Classic Juice Mane
Raekwon has album coming this year. Art work is stupid. Should be much better than his last one, imo....although he still gave us gems like this
I knew who he was Jason. I watched him in Louisville in march of 2012 and he was solid then too.saw him open for Drake in Nashville in 2012 when no one knew who him be, but I knew who him be. Dude was great.
Agree wholeheartedlyAnd I don't want to mention the plethora of totally whack and indefensible pop features he did with everybody because that's just embarrassing. I feel bad for that. I assume he had to do that to satisfy contract agreements or something. Idk. Don't want to know. That's too sad.
Old guy, here.
I was a huge Three 6 fan back in the day. Are Paul and Juciy still cool or is there beef because Paul kept it street and Juicy went mainstream?
There's no beef. Just seems to be differing personalities, imo. Juicy went mainstream and got hip with the kids - something I wouldn't have thought possible, but he did it, and seemed to make a lot of money doing it.
I think Paul basically retired for a bit. Certainly didn't want to follow juicy into new territory. But his personality is a bit different.
I also wonder how the business side worked out for Three Six. Did Paul produce more and get more money during their run? I believe he's a bigger piece to the production side. Idk, but I kind of get the vibe that Paul is set financially, and not willing to ***** himself out for easy cash...
Which Juice probably is to a degree, but he's certainly more about the hustle and getting money by any means necessary. Him and Pat.
But man Paul and Juice were the yin to each other's yang. Their personalities are different, skills different, but they complimented each other well. I think juice work ethic probably helped get the most out of Paul's ability. Juice had the vision, the determination and more marketability to help that group shine.
If they don't do another album I think it would be sad. I didn't think another album would ever be possible till I heard the latest DJ Paul stuff. He seems motivated again.
# of Albums has nothing to do with anything when making comparisons once you're established. E40 has 278 albums, is he the Goat?
I'd entertain arguments for both groups, legends -- but "different leagues" & "UGK aint nothing compared to" = No.
Also don't think UGK got any more spotlight than Three 6. I mean, they have an Oscar. 'Spotlight' Exceptions are the Big Pimpin video and Pimp C dying...maybe. But UGK wasn't some sort of commercial wonder, by any stretch.
You're reaching.
