Riff dropped another, btw. I called all this, but he surpassed my expectations. F'er has a Hollywood movie coming, and this is like 3 years after James Franco played him in a Hollywood movie.

^ Nice Drake beat & flow, lol

Gucci Mane sucks...wanna talk about someone that's redundant. His entire catalogue (minus a few) is just one long song.

I don't know why, maybe it's the violence, but for example, and I don't wanna do this, but UGK ain't nothing compared to three six. You're talking 100 albums like Paul said. Just different leagues. But they will never get their due, and that's cool. Paul dgaf, they can live off 1990 show money if they have to. As a fan, I just want them to get the spotlight they deserve, like UGk did, but I understand they ain't really spotlight friendly, or even want to accept the spotlight. Compared to a personality like Pimp Chad who wanted allllllll the glory all the fame and whatnot.

[sick]

You have got to have the worst ear to rap music I've ever come across!

This is just 4 songs 3-6 can't touch period....and there is more I can bring up before a 3-6 song would even be considered as close to as good.

Also if you want 3-6 get recognized like UGK did, then ask them to please stop sucking at rap! UGK is only known because of the other artists that paid them to be on their tracks. UGK was so under ground before ridin dirty that you had to either be waist deep in the street life or neck deep into rap music.

Enjoy!

Grew up north of Memphis, we all listened to three 6 before they hit it big. In the rooster days. We were religiously on it.

Couldn't pay me to listen to that basment crap sound today.

Raps a landfill. If it isn't Eminem I don't even bother, but I do like Royce 5'9 and a few others.

Lil Wayne, drake, techno pop rapers ect. No thanks.

Lil Dicky owns.

I mean he's totally a gimmicky niche artists, but he's good at the comedy rap.

I'll jump briefly into the UGK/Three 6 debate since it's from my era. First and foremost, I refuse to pick a favorite because they're both really high on my list.

I always thought UGK were much better rappers when it came to lyrics and flow. I looked at Three 6 for more of the shock value of the lyrics/dope beats. (Agree with morgousky about the really old Triple Six **** where they'd loop a sample 65 times consecutively on what sounded like a Fisher Price tape recorder is unlistenable now) Three 6 has a deeper catalog, though, which means there's more good songs as well as more bad ones.

I listened to rap in the 90s for mostly the bass for my system (I can't hear **** in my mid-30s. Yay teenager decisions). I tended to like the southern "beats" labels like No Limit, Cash Money and HCP over the East Cost stuff that was more lyrically focused with beats that didn't bump with that low growling bass.

I discovered UGK in 1993 after I bought the Menace II Society soundtrack ... on cassette. I really loved their collabos with No Limit from 96-98 and Ridin' Dirty, IMO, is one of the best rap albums of the 90s, maybe ever.

My old school jams:

I had a nice system my dad bought me when I was 17. 2 audiobahn flame Q 12's, 2,500 watt flame Q amp for the subs, 4 6x9's and 8 tweets, pushed by an audiobahn 1500 watt amp. Had it hooked to a stinger battery, compositors, huge wires, custom built box professionally built for competition. Mother F***** would pound. That was back in '03. Still have it all but don't use it.

At night they light up blue neon and with the Plexiglas inner part of the box it was pretty bad *** for its day. I don't know enough about it today to know if they're any good anymore. Had a clarion flip screen DVD player at the time too, which was crazy at the time. Might hook it all back up one day. It's great with rap and better with rock.

Eminem keeps putting out the best. New album to come this year, can't wait. Supposed to diss that girl on Dr. Phil that said she's Eminem's kid.

Pretty much sums it up.

Man if we could have had a project pat/pimp c album that would have been the ultimate.

In other news...

Swizz Beats has a DMX album coming out. He sounded very convincing. I believe. I don't know if DMX can flow, every time I hear him speak he's all choppy and schitzo....but I ain't heard him rap. Rap was pretty much all X did, so I have faith. Guaranteed to blow that Zaytoven/JayZ out the water.

....assuming Swizzy stays off the gd hooks.

Learned swizz gave this nore but nore took it to his studio and only listened to the intro. Him and nature wrote their verses asap, finished it. Pun was on Nore's couch, wasn't supposed to be on the song, but he hopped in the booth one take crushed it and told Nore to delete it.

DMX.....realist MC on the planet. Love this 2014 interview. Hope he sounds better on the album than he does in life. Dude's legit tho real talk.

I agree. He's been touring doing shows, so I bet he can still spit. He never really could talk lol.

Swizz also said DMX basically gave his money away. To homeless. Just handed people stacks of cash. To anybody. Sure, maybe drugs played a role, but x has always been wild, but oddly spiritual and cares about something most don't. And his style is so far removed from where rap is now...like, I feel like lil kids would laugh about a dude talking about demons and having convos with himself as God, then rapping about f'ng a dead *****....

But that's exactly what the game needs and that's exactly what swizz said. He only produced this album bc he felt X was in a great spiritual place and the game really needs him. We'll see.

Always appreciated DMX style.

Didn't mean to get hostile with the UGK stuff but they may honestly be right behind Tupac/BIG for me. There is at least an argument.

First time I heard them was on that same song and then I heard them on:

When they do a spot on someone else's song I think they crush every line. Even Jigga on big pimpin!

Heard a blip yesterday from Lord Sear that Birdman plans to release over 500 songs from the CMR vault in 2017?

That could be kinda cool. Imagine you'll have to pick through them like all other NOLA rap, but no way there isn't some gems stashed from the "good ole days".

That'd be cool. #freeBG

Lil Wayne will come back spitting. Believe dat.

Multiple producers/rappers have been saying in interviews and stuff that real rap will make a comeback. We'll see.

Swizz said on his interview that he has the DMX thing, but also has his own album featuring a ton of "wack" rappers that ain't actually wack at all. They can spit, they've just done the Waka Flaka thing and made wack music bc that's what he trend became...started by Wayne, imo, but we know Wayne's a monster.

Maybe K.dot will spit again. Who knows.

Still not sure where that came from, but it was cool to hear it was still in there somewhere.

But it sounds like he's calling Mariah a n****? What's he saying? Does she have a dick?

This is why artist are best to not rap with Eminem. Like snoop says, he'll shred you and make you look foolish. Can't wait for the new album soon. GOAT.

got lost on the youtubes a while back, and ended up on some horrorcore/rap stuff. Twiztid has some...interesting stuff.

If they play it on the radio, I ain't listening to it. Rap isn't the same as it was in the last 90's early 2000's, and that's not a good thing. Like someone said before, Eminem is the only MS artist worth a damn.

"Rap is a landfill." - E.

When he was making his comeback after the pill episode, he was going to smash this poppy techno "rap" BS by drake and the rest of the garbage, but was stopped. Instead they told him to just murder them on their own album and sell records. I wish we had gotten to see what he was gonna come at them with.

Without E rap would be pointless today. Hopefully Rap makes a comeback one day. It's been dying slowly for a decade now.

Did you just not listen to that big Sean song featuring your boy E.

Quit co-signing this garbage, E. If your such a GAWD then why in the hell did you give Big Sean a feature? Detroit boys, I guess. Whatever. Still makes him look like a clown by association.

I mean, the real E would laugh at big Sean and send a couple shots at him and the rest of these wackass rappers...

Kinda like how Kendrick dropped that song full of shots, saying it's over, no more funny business, gonna minded *everybody* Lmao...

...Kendrick hopped on a 21 savage track or some ****. Idk who, one of those clown, featuring Gucci Mane and Kendrick. A snippet "leaked" and internet went nuts lmao.

Again, why is k.dot the GAWD associating that whack ****.

Why is Jay Z working with gucci mane's mixtape producer.

There's no hope, imo. Not till this Raekwon drops. That's about it. Em or K.dot couldnt step on a Rae track and not look like total clowns with their wackass accents and techno rhyme patterns. Try telling a gd story. What's so wack about storytelling now?

E was going to come back against the world and the industry said hell no. They didn't want a rift between Eminem fans and "wayne" fans. Snoop dog and The Game have a great interview on this topic. Snoop basically said an agreement between the wigs at his label and himself that he wouldn't destroy them and would appear on their albums, but he's allowed to basically destroy them during the song. "Drop the world" is basically proof.

lol snoop said they're idiots for rapping with E and he wouldn't because it's a career killer. He'll make you look amateur.

E is about his daughter and making money now, I'll agree Slim Shady is gone forever. But he is still GOAT and he's putting out the only **** worth listening to.

Lol what. Em has his own label.

Have you ever listened to Eminem? I ask because he literally explains this throughout his music. The "industry" did not want him going at those guys. Are you ware of something guys like Snoop, Game, 50 etc don't know about? Because what I just said it exactly what they say. And they're being real about it.

You're calling em a *****, and maybe he is. Same thing happen to k.dot? He went at everyone's head and then disappeared. Industry call him and meanie pants and tell him to hop on a Taylor swift track. Lmao.

I could understand it, but I don't respect it. There are plenty of independents doing/saying whatever they want.

Link that snoop interview bc id like to see it. This makes Em look bad, tho. Idc how you cut it. He's too good so the industry wants him to be whack, and he does it? Wtf. I don't really believe that...not unless they're compensating him big time for that.
