bbdk is probabaly stressed eating a block a cheese like wtf is this. THen he'll calm down, smoke a cig, and come on here trying to act mature like "I really dug the jazz progressions and the fifth stanza on feel was very articulate".

lol there are 14 tracks...

I'm listening to Nas now bc I like thoughtful guys who can *spit*. Nas was 19 talking concepts beyond and more precise, with fn attitude, than Kendrick's lil world music experiment.

But that's not far at all comparing Nas to k.dot.

That better be the last beat alc gives Kendrick half *** singing on his **** like a toddler. What's with the damn kiddie voice simging crap? I officially respect drake more than Kendrick. At least he can sing maybe a little bit enough to where you know it's not a joke. Idk of Kendrick is joking, recreating a weird dream or wtf is going on when he starts that ****. It doesn't sound good. Again, call up erykah badhu let her do what she does and you got a bonafied hit if you play your part and spit that ****. Smh.

Is Kendrick on dog food??? Real talk? Mfer is sad and hopeless sounding.

Interesting article about the guy who produced PRIDE. Uses an old iPhone, an iRig, and Garageband to make the tracks. Ha.

iRigs are phenomenal. I have an older mic jack version and the HD lightning / USB version that I use for guitar / bass / my TD-9SX. Really amazing how easy it is to make great stuff with limited tools if you take some time to learn.

The songs that I like from this album I will bump right up there with swimming pools, money trees, back seat freestyle, adhd, and all the good ones but the others are just decent.

I absolutely love this album. Production is absolutely Bonkers, doesn't seem overly serious, and glad to see him do some actual songs, unlike TAPB, which had some great songs, but was half filled with weird interludes/freestyles/choppy weird political/racial ****. I like the music here.

Easily my favorite since GKMC, and better than everything else I've heard this year combined.

If I had to pick my least favorites: XXX, God, Fear...Humble -- but I don't hate a single song on here, and love the majority. (and if we get another on Sunday :eyes:) -- will come back to my favorites in a week or so. #Duckworth is the early leader in the clubhouse, 9th Wonder a Beast, but I can see this changing every week for 2 months.

Pretty simple -- nobody is touching this dude in 2017, and it's not particularly close either.

Thank you talk some since into your boy.

Xxx beginning sucked and then he started murdering it and then it sucked again.

I love humble. That may be because I've been listening to it every day since he released it

I mean, idk what to do with that album. I can't ride in my car to it. Can't walk my doggy to it. Doesn't inspire me in any way, or bring out any sort of feeling. It makes me want to do heroin. From the cover, the sounds, everything - heroin. I think k.dot capitalized on the current political landscape plus the heroin epidemic, and idgaf about either of those.

I can certainly pick out 3-4 songs that are good enough, but you can do that with any album ever made. This, just like he told us, was the second part to tpab. It was marketed the same, teased the same - with the gangster singles to suck you in, then hits you with the emo heroin "im gonna reinvent rap" ****. And why wouldn't he keep the same formula. He won like 28383 Grammys. Get your paper.

Both times he told me he was done playing with these hoes. He was gonna rip the rap game a new one. And both times he laid down in a poppy field and giggled about some mumbo jumbo and basically wasted my time. I'm done with Kendrick less he wants to rep that west and spit lyrics with intent to harm. I don't watch the Grammys. I don't care about this genre. It's very weird to me.

He gave me gkmc and section 80. That's good enough. Not to put him in conversations with guys who did that **** year after year after year, but it's a new world. Game don't work like that anymore.

Makes sense that the poster that loves crap rap doesn't like an album or rapper that isn't reliant upon heavy/hard beats.

Shocker

That said, not a real fan of Kendrick overall. I do like Pride and Fear a lot, but none of the favorites sit with me really (DNA, Element etc).

But I never really like new hip hop until the 3/4th listen anyway.

I mostly had a problem with his toddler voice. There were good beats. 9th wonder makes hard beats. Kendrick didn't go hard on it. Alc makes hard af beats. Kendrick sang like a toddler in it.

I'm just too old and white. He's gonna win 356 Grammys again. GOAT.

Why can't kdot just spit that **** like that? Its rap. Not jazz fusion interpretive poetry pop hop. You can spit the illest **** over Mozart.

I just don't understand or get what he's doing.

Paranormal otherworldly dreams with political motives --------> GTFO

Common spits hard af, for example. Mos Def shakes the foundation every time he spits.

K.dot been sleepwalking for a check, tbh. Pay attention.

That fact that the NBA uses a song in which the lyrics are literally:

"Sit down.......***** be humble"

Is flat out surreal.

It was just a few years back we were pushing for these lower income fellas to grow up once they got paid and wear suits to work, and I guess that phase of respectability is out!

Album is :fire:

Like who

That is funny krazy. Also funny to hear K.dot spit about pulling macs n **** on on the same album he made a gun control song with fn Bono. Be humble, yall. Let me park my Aston in the middle of the road. See me on TV, y'all.

*im listening again just so I can thoroughly rip this apart. For Jesus. Lord done rose from the cave to hear this ****???

YAH - lmao SKIP.....wtf. He heroin mumbling about being *not* humble af, bet. How cute! Now just stunting....still heroin mumbling, lazy rhymes. Dr Seuss heroin dream sequence is what this is. Very awful. 1*

ELEMENT - he's awake. Telling stories. Real cool. 10000%.....we'll, he goes Drake on the chorus with his baby idiot voice. 2nd verse slips back in his Dr Seuss drake flow. Flips back to spitting, then back to elementary school. Took a 5* star, f'd with it and made a 3*....end gets worse. Main beat bonkers.

DNA - more elemtary rap, drake flow, but he's saying it with his chest. No heroin baby. Very dr Seuss as it gets going more. Beat fire, could tone down the eqyptian sounds a tad. 3*, a little annoying, element is better.....well, he's fn up the end. Political weirdo, electro trap crap. He spitting at least. Still 3*, annoying, not as good as Element.

3 songs very meh so far. Element dope, but still annoying. These are solely for the drake, Kanye, world market. Junk to my ears. Really disrespecting Compton so far

LOYALTY - w....t.....f . SKIP. -1*. Objectifying women now, btw. Lmao Rihanna whisper raps second verse. Idk who's on the chorus, some auto tuned Ty $sign sounding thing. More heroin flow. Somebody need to slap this guy. Rihanna rapping *again*. "I'm geeked and I'm fired up...all I want to do is get higher!!!" Lmao.

1/4 with three hard and fast SKIPS!

3 fn skips in 4 random songs. That's actually impressive.

I think through called it....3-4 fire songs. About average.

GOD - smh. LAUGHING TO THE BANK LIKE AHA. More Dr Seuss...heroin flow but like he just ate some ice cream and he's happy. FLEX ON SWOLE LIKE AHA. 0*. Don't judge me, he repeats that a lot. So emo. Lol he goes into space at the end again...common theme so far and it's awful. He's remixing originals inside the song. Euro trap bs remix. Lost another star. -1. The Rihanna song is more tolerable.

LOVE - huhhhhhhh. LMAO. Son! -2* no comment.

Project ain't never tell you to be humble or not break the law. No hypocrisy there, idiot.

Don't start. I'm all in my Kendrick zone. Best headphones. Really actually listening unlike first run through.

This album plays well to the Harper Thompson market. 97% of people named Apple give this album 5 stars. Idk wtf he's doing but...

Drake, the weekend, future >>>>> Kendrick

HUMBLE - 6*. Still baby voice, slight Dr Seuss, but he's flowing like a river for the first time....slips in 2nd verse. Mickey Mouse rhymetime, yay!!! Still, banging beat, raps on point. Piano keys and snares.

XXX - lmaoooo. Another "new kung fu kitty!!!". Pure dog ****. I don't think they finished this song. Switched beat, more Dr Seuss....another switched beat, this one badass. Sirens and slaps. K flowing. Mobbing. NOT HUMBLE. Break the law, hell yea. Switch beat, garbage. Gun control. LMAO BONO!! Need a lot more than heroin to jive to this ****. 4 songs in one song. Monumental **** of a thing. 1* bc he gave 30 seconds of heat.

Feeling bad for him at this point. Idk if they let him listen to the final tracks. NEW KUNG FU KITTY. Is that on the real CD or just a free streaming thing?

PRIDE - sigh. I think he's speaking Asian? I'd like the beat if Bono was singing on it. It's a catchy pop sound. Better than new Kung fu kitty eurocrap. Kendrick trying to be eryka badhu tho lmOooo. Awful. 1*....seagull samples near the end LMAOOOO

unlike TAPB, which had some great songs, but was half filled with weird interludes/freestyles/choppy weird political/racial ****.

That's exactly what this is. It's the sequel to TPAB. Listen to your boy. I respect him for executing exactly what he wanted to do, but it ain't my genre of rap. This stuff is pure garbage, imho. Less than average

DUCKWORTH - dopest beat so far. Kendrick doing a weak Eminem 2 step thing. Catching up, and flowing now. Spitting thoroughly now. Beat changed. Kendrick riding the wave. Feeling the flow. Beat change again. Great sounds but stop switching the gd beat and let Kendrick roll. Almost every damn song....6*

BLOOD - heroin dream sounds. Lol. AWFUL. This is just a 2' poetry skit tho. Kind of cool, like a weird outer space heroin commercial within this lazy heroin album. Ohh nvm, it's a anti cop PSA. -2*

lol-- Spotify suggested a Freddie Cain track. 20 Karat Jesus. Hard af. Beat switch into some classic soul. Gangsta smooth. Even has jesus on at the end! Happy Easter y'all. Freddie for the kids, btw.

...back to this damn Kendrick. Almost done. Think I got ALC track left.

Fear - dopest beat so far. Simple gangsta soul. Kendrick trying to ruin it at first. Now he's finally rapping. Good. Now he's singing like erykah badu again. AWFUL chorus. Kendrick needs to quit doing hooks. He's rich enough to get Mariah Carey to sing this ****, then he'd look like a boss. Need to cut this song short bout 3 minutes. 4*

Almost finished with this nightmare

Feel - cool. Emo ****, but no heroin baby. He got his big boy pants on. Sniff some heroin to this one. No shooting. 4.5*...probabaly his best one. It's focused, no unnecessary BS, beat changing, just spitting on cool beat.

DAMN! The Im Gonna Need More Heroin Album: 5/15 tracks. God awful skips.some real head scratchers.
Very disjointed and unrefined. Ton of beats had no business on that album, didn't sound finished, not focused. Lyricism matched the beats.

Not Kendrick's fault, imo. His fanbase and goals for this album are completely different than GKMC. Just not for me. 5/15 is od awful, but I initially thought it was about 3. There's good in the **** pile of an album. Solid C. Average *** mostly forgettable album.

Not every album can be GKMC. I could go through that whole album and not skip a song. Could do the same on Section 80. I am disappointed he didn't drop another on easter but maybe he will drop this whole political stuff.

Well, if you are a GOAT - which he's clearly not after 3 studio albums. 2 of which were total skip fests, plugged with obvious singles to sucker in buyers - then you certainly can expect GKMC quality work. Something more focused and executed than whatever the hell I listened to last night. GOATS ain't judged on potential, gotta put it on wax young man.

But, it's just a different era. Like I heard DJ Clark Kent talking on drink champs, you aren't judged by your album. People don't buy albums. Back then, you needed a strong album because your customers had to buy that whole album, and the fans weren't buying your next one if you flopped and gave them 3 songs for 10.99. Not the case today. You pick and choose what you like and make your own damn album playlist. You don't feel f'd over because you didn't waste $10. You pay $10 a month for a rap buffet and pick and rummage through all the **** to find the gems you like. It's watered down ********.

So, whatever. K.dot is a product of that. This is more about casting a wide net and giving something for EVERYBODY. I bet what's poppimg in Europe ain't the songs we're talking about here. Maybe Kung fu kitty ayoo!!! Is the best thing smoking in Indonesia right now. Idk. All I know is one garbage *** album.

I'm gonna read some reviews from mfers named stuff like Chaz and Suade just to get the full experience here. I wasted a lot of time last night, might as well fully immerse myself in this ******** for scientific purposes.

Also gonna look at who produced what. I would think Kendrick could get 3 tracks from 9th, couple from ALC, few from badbadnotgood and hey, suddenly you got half an album that's pretty good. It's like Bono took up all his budget and management was like "um yea kdot can you call Kung Fu kitty and see if he'll give us 5 free tracks in exchange for letting him name drop on the intros, TIA!" *k.dot slams heroin and calls Kung fu kitty because he's a slave to the game*. Sad!

Marjua Estevez, Senior Editor: VIBE

Kendrick Lamar enters his latest opus speaking softly and carrying a big stick. Without properly digesting the 14-track album and still chewing over its many themes, DAMN. I think is perhaps K. Dot’s greatest visceral body of work—a most necessary compilation flung from the depths of Compton, USA during a social climate still perpetuating global violence against the black body. Apart from the very purposeful subject matters concerning love, spirituality, growth, human error and heritage, among many others, Kung Fu Kenny – having battled depression and suicidal thoughts throughout much of his youth – soon emerges a prophet of sorts, assuming his regal place in the world: a black Israelite – both savage and king – bearing a machete in his mouth and his greatest truths inside his ribs.

LMAOOOOO. Thanks for that touching intro to what is sure to be a robust and life altering review, Marjua. Could use some more buzzwords. Ohhh, and Kung Fu Kenny. Ok, I'm learning...

Btw, are cops shouting black kids on the tv during Donald's presidency? I haven't seen em. We had an awful few months of riots and dead cops and kids there during Barry's time. But idk. I hate politics, but let's be honest here, Marjua....if that's even your real name.

Mash is a clown. GKMC will never be topped most likely, just like nearly every other great rapper's Original Classic was never topped. Seems like a miserable way to 'enjoy' music, imo. You do the same thing with Jay Z, Eminem, and anyone else you claim to have once liked.

He didn't rap "Hard AF" on that one either for the most part ----> He rapped like Kendrick. He 'sang' on Swimming Pools, Kill My Vibe, and Money Trees...you have a problem with those?

You like one very specific corner of rap, that's limited to a few artists that yell into a microphone HARD AF!!!! and talk nonstop about drugs, murder, and being dumb. Many of the sounds/melodies on this album are P-Funkish, that's who inspired most of those dudes out west, idiot. Not Big Daddy Kane & KRS 1 And you obviously hate any form of R&B, Smooth, or 'lighter' sounding Rap.

(actually you don't, you just pretend to b/c that's your little image you like to portray)

In reality, You liked GKMC b/c he was still 'new' (to most, even yourself), and the masses were still catching on and discovering him. Now everyone knows him, and the vast majority love him -- so he's garbage to you. It's really that simple. :100points:

Lol jay and em gave multiple classics.

I thoroughly broke it down fairly, more than fairly, actually. Gave him very high marks for his hits. The album is just halfass thrown together, tbh. Not a complete work by any stretch.
