Rappahannock v Auburn - Volleyball State Championship!

Rappahannock v Auburn - State Volleyball Championship this Saturday in Salem at 2:15 pm.

Auburn goes for its 4th State Championship in a row!

Rappahannock has never won a volleyball state championship!

In fact, no Northern Neck district school (6 teams) has ever won states.

I don't think any NND team has ever even made it to the title game either (correct me if someone did make it that far at some point)

The local Northern Neck/Middle Peninsula public has really come together to support this group of young ladies in their long quest for volleyball glory.

There was a large & loud contingent of Rappahannock fans with signs etc. who travelled to Rappahannock County in the pouring rain yesterday. Rapp Co were great and fun hosts.

The Rappahannock Times (based in Tappahannock/King and Queen) has provided outstanding coverage to the Raiders Volleyball team all season. In this week's paper alone there are 7 color photos and 2 big articles.

Our local radio stations WRAR and WNNT (realradio804.com) traveled to Rapp Co and broadcasted the entire volleyball game on the air and online with interviews and all.

I was able to listen to some of it at the game. It was awesome. We have received many texts and comments of people who tuned in and loved it! WRAR will do it again this Saturday at Salem.

The radio has been covering local Football, Baseball, and Softball playoffs for decades (I suppose some Basketball too.) This was the first time they had ever done any of the other sports!

Also, I was told that the Old Rapp Tapp House (great restaurant and pub) in downtown Warsaw had a large crowd partying and supporting the Lady Raiders!

Dang, you gotta love small town America! Go Raiders!
