The Bus will get in. I don't think it's a stretch to say he's not 1st ballot worthy.
I didn't realize he's the 1st USM player to be inducted. Made me think, do we have any? JSU has the most in Mississippi, correct? Maybe I'm grouping all the Mississippi SWAC schools.
Do you really think that's even realistic? He's been retired 30 years with nary a peep of a mention of the HOF. At this point our best shot is Fletcher Cox.
Unless Fletcher ends up being the next Reggie White, yeah, I'd say its DD or nobody.
I think Kent Hull has a better shot than DD. Now that Reed has made it Hull would be the next choice on that team. Dermontti Dawson has to make it first.
Good call. Much more realistic than pulling a 30 year old name of a good college/high average pro player who happened to go to State.
Long overdue for a great guy. I talked to him last night and he's excited to say the least. He hasn't had the most glorious retirement that you think most players have. I couldn't be happier for him.
Love D D Lewis. Saw him play many times, but he ain't getting into the HOF. He never made all pro or the pro bowl. Great college player, good pro player.
Hull is the only guy who deserves HoF but it's been too long since he played for an interior linemen to make it now. Had they won one of those Super Bowls I think he'd be a lock, but they didn't... And he played a position unfortunately no one seems to care about. Seems like they're trying to fix that now, but I'll be shocked if he ever gets recognition in Canton.
Honestly I don't care about us having or not having HoF players, but it would be nice. I still know who Hull was and what he means to MSU and I never saw him play a down.
I will say though that I friend of mine from Buffalo says Hull is a legend. Says people go to games to this day in his jersey.
