You personally don’t know any of these players, so what reality are you living in exactly? The Afghanistan/Vietnam statement was asinine and you know it. These kids were recruited because they obviously showcased they have enough talent to possibly play in the NBA one day and make that their career. When you’re recruited by one of the best coaches of all time, then a hooker scandal and an FBI probe hits the program you committed to, and suddenly the coach that these kids put their faith in gets banished, what would you do exactly? I’ll say it again, I don’t blame Ray one bit.
The sympathy card that Padgett and the team used last year was total BS. Ok, mourn for a week or a month but they were allowed to use that narrative the entire season. Yeah, from a basketball perspective the rug was pulled out from under them more than once.
But, they still get treated like rock stars, no college debt, gear for days, etc. The “poor thing, poor guys” crutch was given for the guys last year to use for the duration. The scandal had zero to do with Adel & Spalding bolting, they left for a quick dollar. And, a quick dollar it will probably be.
