Cotton, 4 star; Drummond, 4 star; Patterson, 5 star; Barksdale, 4 star; Hornsby, 3 star. There could be others that I don't about, but that's 5 of their highest rated players.

Not trying to start a holy war or anything, but who is one "proven" playmaker that Nutt has found.

He didn't leave the program or anything, but I think I read his knee injury was horrible and it'll be a miracle if he plays again.

I could be completely wrong, though. I think it happened on a ST play.

The idea is that he always seems to find someone each year to make plays. Who knows who that will be, but if he sticks to his pattern, he'll find someone to get yards and do something for us.

Cotton would be stupid to transfer if you ask me. He's going to play some this fall if he sticks it out, and he'd get an opportunity to show his stuff. If he loses out on the job this fall, then I'd understand transferring, but to leave after a spring where you came out the No. 2 mainly because you didn't get to take many reps in spring because of an injury is a questionable move.

Our defense got us to a bowl game in 2007 and their defense could do the same. Plus their schedule is a great rebuilding year schedule. Heck I wish we had that schedule every year.

I'd take him if we could get him to think about transferring to us - he could go ahead and have that shoulder surgery since he has to sit out a year anyway and I think he's at least as good as anybody else we have on our board right not in my opinion.

...when Rosebowl was asked by panicked GP followers, he politely said he didn't know why Cotton was ranked so because the guy couldn't throw a ball and hit water if he was sitting in a boat.

....of WRs trying to position themselves in the line so that they wouldn't have him throwing to them.

Their QB situation was bad to start with and Masoli would have been a HUGE upgrade. All they've lost is a sore shouldered backup QB who apparently doesn't have a competitive bone in his body. If this transfer is true, I don't see it hurting UM because he wouldn't have played anyway.

moving so heavily to the run. His daddy spoke with Cecil Newton and they decided to make the move.

They'd have found a scholarship for Masoli if they wanted him. It's not that hard to cut your 85th best player.

We'll see. One thing Nutt can do is find playmakers.

You may not have that luxury. If Cotton leaves, Mackey will be Stanley's back up by default. I doubt real seriously any HC would use is only back up scholarship QB to run wild cat plays...

had our 85 assigned for 2010-2011. Can't do anything (guarantee a scholly) now unless one of our 22 don't qualify or someone returns their offer. Remember we had 468 commitments a year or so ago to make up forthe Lost Years. By the way, what is Tyler Russell up to these days? Just askin'

you're very naive. It's not that hard to do. In fact, it's pretty damn easy. And WTF does Tyler Russell have to do with anything other than you just trying to be an *******?

I wonder if Nutt and Cotton don't get along all that well. During spring practice I heard a Nutt interview on Out of Bounds, and in reference to Cotton, Nutt said, "You can't win a starting job from the tub." You could hear some aggravation in Nutt's voice, too. Maybe, Cotton is just lazy and/or a *****, and Nutt is sick of it, and tension has grown.

Or maybe I've been following MSU basketball too long.

Just look at Relf, he couldn't hit the broad side of a barn one year ago but he has developed pin point accuracy this offseason.

out of the woods yet.

Masoli, 21, is currently serving a year-long probation from a second-degree burglary charge. That case, in which a felony was bargained down to a misdemeanor, stemmed from Masoli and former Ducks wide receiver Garrett Embry stealing a laptop computer and other items from the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity house in Eugene on Jan. 24.

The Lane County district attorney's office said today that it has not yet decided whether the traffic-stop and marijuana charges will be considered a violation of Masoli's probation.

Following last week's charges, Masoli was dismissed from the Oregon football team for "failure to adhere to obligations previously outlined," by head coach Chip Kelly.
