I’ve been a little perplexed by some of his chain of play calls. That said, it’s tough for us to know how much of that was a QB audibling. I believe Dana’s hands were tied with Raiola at QB.
This is also my conspiracy about the offense: Dana isn't using his playbook, nor his offense. He's using Rhule's/Satt's stuff and not necessarily by choice.

Why I subscribe to the conspiracy theory: Rhule already admitted he forced Butler into using White's system and playbook. A system Butler only had 6 months in, and didn't allow him to do his own thing. If he handcuffed 1 coordinator, it is not out of the realm of possibilities that Rhule (a confessed micromanager) has handcuffed Dana as well.

I do remember hearing about Dylan supposedly changing the plays frequently or changing the routes. If those are true too, then that's also going to alter a lot of what Dana would like to do.

I think this is a pivotal year for the offense and Dana. It is year 4 and the offense has yet to be above mediocre under Rhule. If there is not a significant improvement in the offense this year, I don't know how you can justify extending Dana when his contract expires at the end of the year. As a WVU alum, I love Dana. I've seen what his offenses can do. I haven't seen it at Nebraska.

My suspicion and what I’ve heard is that some of the redzone and short yardage plays were audibles to passes from run plays. Maybe it was legit to get out of play based on a defense but there were too many WTH moments.

That would provide some rationale for why the redzone offense was horrible for the 3rd season in a row.

My friend has a son on the team so he gets to see practices and stuff...said the OL is nasty...said the DL looks bad...

He said that freshman RB looks like a grown *** man.
Curious about the context. When was this observation made? Is it o line vs d line in pads? Workouts? Weight room? Or something I'm missing?
Thanks

The true handcuff was Dylan. Not only was his lack of mobility the issue but his propensity to keep his completion percentage up... in spite of trying to actually score/win. Totally self serving. Good riddance they're all gone!

In regards to Dana, no way he sticks around this long if he is being that micromanaged.

Maybe 10 years ago, but I'm not sure Dana is considered a hot commodity anymore. Solid, but not someone coaches are tripping over to get. So getting paid $1.2M to be micromanaged isn't such a bad gig.
I think some of the guys just get sick of it too. Like, he is really rich, he also makes great cash now. I can't imagine he cares all that much about job security.

Any updates on the second coming of Lawrence Phillips???
Anyone start a collection for bail $$$?

You ladies sure do have a problem staying on subject.

Speaking of the upcoming season...any possible chance Matty is still employed a year from now if he doesn't win in Iowa City?
I mean, he'll still be drawing a salary, but ...

Hey look...it is the iowa fan that STILL can't name even ONE meaningful game that iowa has ever played in...

Be honest...the second you posted that question and I answered it...you KNEW you ****** up, right?

And because I am not scared like you are...I will answer your questions again.

I think Rhule is gone after this season no matter what.

Do you think your coach is gone after this year when you don't win 11 games with that easy *** schedule?

Nebraska doesn't have the $$$ to can Rhule or he'd already be gone.
And his agent played Dannen like a fiddle with the extension.

I don't know if all the football program issues fall on the bad hires or on a couple of incompetent ADs?
It's pretty obvious Nebraska will never attain the stature the fans hoped for when it joined the B1G. Now the additions of Washington/USC/Oregon just makes it harder.
To answer your last question...Iowa's a 8/9 win team. Consistently an 8/9 win team since they went to the 12 game schedule.
Just looked, Huskers haven't won 8 games in one season since 2016. WOW
That .744 or whatever you've been throwing around was achieved with primarily an eleven game schedule with Ferentz in the early half of his tenure. But you already know that. It makes your argument highly deceptive.
BTW: I haven't followed social media all that close this weekend...any updates on the police blotter for current Husker players/recruits?
Or Coaches?🤣🤣
TIA

We already debunked your "he coached most of his career with an 11 game schedule" thing. That just isn't true.

Anyway, when was the last meaningful game that iowa played in?

the idiot out wandering around says "consistently wins 8/9 games"

Yet in the 20 years its been a 12 game regular season, Iowa has 6 seasons of less than 8 wins....that goes against the very definition of "consistently".

You ladies defending the Huskers in this thread is like Nebraska competing in FBS level football.

One level too high.
I'm lucky not to be charged with child abuse beating on ya!🤣🤣

Again, can you name ONE meaningful game that iowa has ever played in, please?

And the child abuse is what you iowa fans have put up with your entire lives...never once having a good team to root for and just sitting back and accepting it...Just hoping that Mom will make it stop...waiting for that day that you "grow up" and can "fight back"

My thinking for the coming season is that Wade’s approach to the OL controls, there will be a build out with what worked in the run game, and Holgerson will have a QB operating the offense who is more suited to what he likes to do.

It is a truly sad program filled with nothing great, ever. The fans flock here because of how jealous they are since they have never had anything to celebrate.
