Tonight was one if the better regular season games I've seen in a long time. Both teams gave everything they had and neither deserved to lose.
Gap has a good team, but the difference to me was Lee QB Jayden Williams. He struggled a little in the first half, but found his rhythm in the second half and executed a perfect drive that led to the game winning score. His receivers and oline deserve a ton of credit too, as they are doing their part to keep the offense rolling. As for Jayden's impact, I think he's also the one who laid the hit that caused the BG receiver to drop the pass on their last drive, when they really looked like theyd score and come away with the victory. To me, that hit/play ended the game even though they still had one or two more plays left.
I want to tip my cap to the Bison players and their fanbase. I underestimated that team after seeing their results the past 2 weeks. They play with a chip on their shoulders and they have two of the best players in the area in Carter Rivenburg and Jay Johnson. The fanbase was very impressive, and I saw a number of them congratulating and conversing with Lee parents and players after the game. Very classy group.
