Yes, he will be the AD. They wouldn't let him do both. I have to say that I am glad he will still be around because he does a great job at getting guys into college. Especially for a school the size of RE Lee... I've seen a few people mention Dale Spitzer as a possible candidate, but I have someone who I think has a chance at the job and that is Michael Guertler. I think he will provide the discipline they need, and he is back in town as he in no longer coaching at Carson Newman. Very interested to see who the school hires and how the team looks next year. I'm sure there are some assistants with other teams looking at this job opening as well as it seems like a great opportunity.I assume this means Tibbs is the new AD at the school because the head football coaching position was listed open today for applicants. Should be an attractive job as it includes a full-time PE spot with it.

Good point there.They would have a better applicant pool if they didnt advertise the Head Football Position/PE/Drivers Ed as one position, I undestand if its the only teaching job available as of right now but some others may open up soon this time of year. And if you advertise seperately you would have a better chance of attracting great coaches. And great football coaches don't have to be a PE teacher!!!! They said don't apply if you dont teach PE. This is actually the 1st time I've seen a Coaching Job in VA advertised together like this over the last 8 or 10 years that i can remember too!
I'm not saying Bowers will go there, but I was trying to think of PE teachers who are qualified to be a Head Coach, and he came to mind as I am just trying to brainstorm some potential candidates. As for being closer to family, getting from Buffalo Gap to Lee is closer than getting from Stuarts Draft to Buffalo Gap, roughly 10 minutes. If he wanted to be a head coach and closer to his family at Gap, then I think it does make some sense, but if he is content with his position at Gap, then you are right in that him leaving is probably not likely.Coach Bowers is not going any where. He is very content at Buffalo Gap. Why would he give up a HC position at SD, resign to be closer to home and family at Buffalo Gap only to leave a year later to be HC at Lee? Makes no sense and no way it happens.

We finally get Lee on the schedule and Tibbs runs and hides . We wanted Lee for years and they did not want any part of Riverheads ! Casto is in the running for this one !
