Ole Miss and State are in any given sport, at least USM is around to ridicule.

This epitomizes pretty much ever USM "fan" I've ever run across. My first run-in? Mississippi Veterans Memorial Stadium, 1981. USM 7, State 6. I was 7. A USM fan yells at me and my family as we're leaving and throws ice. At a 7-year old and his family. Don't believe anything more needs to be said.

When I was interviewing at the American one of the mid level guys at USM SID was touring me around "The Rock." Very nice guy, very nice staff, good company in general. He starts giving me the $20 tour of the campus and I interrupt at one point to explain that I'd been USM and Hattiesburg before, that I went to J School at Ole Miss.

There wasn't a slight change in tone, or a perceived slight - it was out and out, "Oh s---, are you kidding me? Great..."

It's real. That was only the internet feed, which apparently nobody associated with the broadcast bothered to check was working. The over-the-air broadcast was as normal.</p>

Edited: I'm like 4 minutes into this, and it is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYY too good. Also, you've gotta turn it up really loud to listen, and at 5:38 there's an extremely loud, nearly deafening "chime" noise, just fair warning.

But...... I thank them for giving us another reason to laugh at Southern Miss. Rock 104 dj's have been known to poke fun at USM's lack of attendance and overall pattern of being a ****** school.

Again, thank you Southern Miss for giving the entire state another reason to laugh at you and push you around like the red-headed stepchild that you are.

I could certainly think of a less painful way to get off. I would just try not to take advice from Southern fans.
