guys, what did you expect? the bears were foaming at the mouth for the all elusive victory over mississippi state. they even printed special t-shirts to commemorate the likely victory. those shirts will be passed down from father to son and the story of how the valiant bears battled their way to the NIT will echo through the annals of time. the reality is their starvation for a win and disappointment in the egg bowl has forced every ole miss fan into talking **** about basketball. let them have it. they are celebrating a .500 record. this is what they do...that and celebrate recruiting championships (dont look now, but they are 8th in the sec in recruiting and 5th place in the sec west). dont let facts get in the way. 0-1, 1-1, and 1-2 (at best) is how their big 3 are looking this year.

I love beating them in the big 3, but growing up on the coast around all those elitist tennis club Ole Miss asswipes makes me LOVE MSU kicking their fancy asses in tennis. I don't even like tennis especially, but I'm almost as proud of having an elite tennis team as I am the rest of those sports.

The Flagship has a national championship in tennis, recently

And unlike most of our players, he was American. Mississippian I think.

Mississippi has never won a national championship in tennis. You do have at least 3 national champions in singles or doubles, but never a team championship. MSU also has at least 2 national champions in singles or doubles, but never a team championship.

Interesting ...

I've spent more time in Oxford than he did.

"After only one semester in college, Britton announced on July 1, 2009, that he would not return to Mississippi but would instead turn professional and had already signed a contract with a sports agency"

Last I heard, he was back in Oxford working towards his degree. Unfortunately, there's not much room in pro tennis for serve and volleyers. The highlight of his pro career was playing Roger Federer in the 1st round of the US Open one year (the NCAA tournament winner gets a wild card into the Open).

Those "heirloom t-shirts" of which you speak have been around since the 90's. Every school has them for someone.

See. Here's yours:

Maybe you've never seen them because all the XXXXXL's sell out pretty quick in Starkville. I don't know. Maybe not.

boom....really brought the heat with that one**

difference is, we acknowledge the rivalry...apparently, with some degree of hate. the rebels on the other hand, try to pretend like there is no rivalry for most of the time until the all-elusive victory against state happens....then yall go apeshit and all of the sudden its a glorious rivalry. we hate yall all the time, yall hate when its convenient (presumably, to maintain some level of love). ole miss trys to impart this facade in the sec (after all, for a school with the "glorious history" of ole miss to hold a dwindling 18 game lead in the rivalry to a team that has a sub .500 record SHOULD be a total embarrassment to anyone that considers themselves a legitimate mid to upper tier football program), but the truth of the matter is that despite having bright spots in engineering (state) and medicine (om), both schools are lower tier sec schools in athletics and academics and have been for decades upon decades.

yall are the poor kid that saves his money for years for one party, goes out and buys expensive clothes and a limo. you show up to the rich kids party overdressed and looking like a bunch of fools. we show up in our regular clothes with a 6-pack of pabst looking for the drunkest girl in the room and making no excuses about it...and people like us more for not being a bunch of pretentious ******** that dont realize just how bad they have it. bottom of the conference in athletics and certainly in academics....we both hail from the same **** towns in the poorest, fattest, dumbest state in the nation and no amount of texas, alabama, and tennessee rejects can change that. at least we have baseball to offer the world of college athletics. what do yall have other than mid-tier (at best...thats all the cotton bowl affords you) football, lower tier basketball, and a baseball team that couldnt make it to omaha if their lives depended on it.

We do wear antagonizing t-shirts during the Egg Bowl. Don't know if your post was basketball only.

That **** is hilarious...and spot on in my esteemed opinion!

Also, the shift key is your friend. Give him some love.

Want to know how I knew what to expect? Other road games:

Utah St. 87 - MSU 68
Kentucky 85 - MSU 63
Alabama 80 - MSU 61

That's an average of 20 points/loss. Oh, and OM beats us by 19, so par for the course.

In our defense, 3 of those 4 teams are pretty good. And Bama just beat LSU at home.

If we lose by 20+ to Vandy and A&M - then I will be truly disappointed.

Translate this garbage into readable English and I'm sure I can do the same with it.

i never said we didnt embrace the rivalry and print shirts...i think you are projecting what you think you want to hear, when in fact, it was never said on my part. its pretty apparent that we do everything we feel like doing to antagonize the rivalry, t shirts included. i never said we didnt...so whats your point?

comprehension is a *****, but does take a higher level of understanding to read something that isnt capitalized or fully punctuated, but im a lazy typer so your ignorance is excused.

Well Vandy actually currently has a slightly higher RPI than Bama. I think KY and OM are both quality teams but getting blown off the floor by Utah St. and Bama was not good. A&M, Auburn and GA are the only 3 teams on the road that we might be able to keep the game close. Vandy, LSU and Mizzou will likely blow us out in the fashion we are accustomed to.

But LSU is a decent team and Bama just beat them at home. That's my point.

And after looking at Utah State - they aren't as good as I thought they were. But I do think we are a better team now than we were earlier in the season.

Big difference....we know that Ole Miss has destroyed the image of Mississippi for the past 160 years,

while The Mississippi State University has tried to improve the State's perception in America.
