Concerning USP...it's not that difficult for coaches to...

to defend toss sweep left/right and QB keeper around the ends anymore.

I really want to see MC go in the spread direction. Its no question Madison Central is the most attractive job in MS. Time to go in a new direction

Could Rod Walker possibly keep MC in the Super 10l?

It would greatly benefit the colleges in MS if more schools updated their offenses to what is being run on the college level. I know this isn't ground-breaking news.

But its so true. The sad thing is if anyone even tried any type of spread at USP they could be scary with their athletes. Even if they couldnt find a QB who could throw it they could run the Rich Rod option type deal and be better than they are now

MC actually runs the spread now. And lo and behold the offense is much better. The problem is the defense looks like Hall hired Tyrone 17ing Nix. AWFUL! And they commit way too many penalties and they where to line up about half the time.

Hall is lucky that a trained chicken on the sideline could win 6A District 2 with Madison Central's talent alone.

I disagree- I think South Panola should run the flexbone. They very rarely produce good QB's.

The thing is- South Panola just isn't that good anymore. They're only going to go as far as Tony Conner and running behind Deon Mix will take them. After they leave- they'll be a good team, but nowhere near dominant.

I don't think them changing the scheme will fix anything. And as bad as Pogue is, I don't think firing him will change much either. Football is Mississippi at that level is progressing and changing- and they aren't changing with it. And when/if they ever do decide to change, it's going to be a long process because it has to start in junior high for them. You can't just plow over someone anymore.

A lot of teams do try to run "college-like" offenses. Most do very good if they have even a half way decent passing QB and WRs. I figure it's easier for the bigger schools to switch over just because you have better athletes- they don't have to depend on one guy for 90% of their offense, they're more likely to have a decent qb, and they have a deeper group of WRs.

Kind of like Mullen said he wanted 6-8 guys he could rotate at WR. Most highschools are lucky if they find 3 that can catch a ball.

This year, I think even an untrained chicken couldn't find a way to lose a district game at Madison Central. A traditionally bad district is way down this year, even for it's low standards. I think Murrah is the only other team that's not just outright terrible. And they're still Murrah, so how good could they be?
