Anyone who has ever played basketball at a competitive level could tell you we weren't going to be a better basketball "team" when those 2 were cleared. This is just like Polk staying too long and running the program into the ground before people realized it wasn't the answer. State fans are just too short-sighted.
Really can't believe some thought Renardo and Dee would make a difference.

We can't play defense and rebound - two of Stans staples.
What your seeing his how important Jarvis was to the past few teams. We honestly haven't been that good a defensive team for 2-3 years now. Just Jarvis cleaned up everyone else's messes so well. Now without that kind of player in the middle we can't seem to stop most teams unless we go zone and hope for the best. I have no idea what kind of defense we played tonight .
We have zero interiors presence on defense and RSS doesn't help that really. Dee is a mediocre defensive player (more b/c he doesn't put 100% effort there vs. ability).
So those two will help us score more points but won't really give us a huge boost on defense.
The saving grace is most of the SEC stinks as well...so when we start those games we'll look at as good as about anybody else in the conference. However, that still doesn't make us a good team
