Just now on SEC network. Great competitor but believed in leading a balanced life. Big lesson there boys.

I like him OK. But he was bad to run up the score on opponents back in the day,

Including dear old MSU. All the more reason I relish the 3 and 57 that I witnessed firsthand. I guess he humbled up a bit with age.

I love him. I don't mind him running it up because he's always taken others running it up on him pretty well. Guys like Pete Carroll would cry when people did it to him but he did it all the time. So, I actually respect Ol Steve for it.

And he's the best coaching interview in the game.

That's what he said on the show "It's our job to score. It's their job to stop

us".

It's not his job to stop his team from scoring. Dan Mullen has run the score up on a few teams too. And I'm sure not bitching about that.

Hard to believe he was at UF for 12 years. He's been at SC for 10 already. That will make you feel old.

Scoring as much as you can (at least to a degree) shows respect to your opponent. It says, "You might come back on us." I'd let a seven year old win (or barely lose) a foot race--but not someone my own age.

To wit:

In regards to the "balanced life" theme, they interviewed Stoops and Stoops said

the coaches were shocked that Spurrier came in and told them we were going to be beach and have some fun the weekend before the Tennessee game because they had and open date. While on the beach Stoops said he and Spurrier were floating around in the ocean and Spurrier looked at his and said "Bob, you think those Tennessee coaches are on the beach right now" and cackled. He was cock sure of himself.

I don't know about before the 3 and 57 game, but I know the year after he had a pretty decent reason since a fan sucker punched their water boy after the 3 and 57 game.
