EXCLUSIVE — A California-based biopharmaceutical company claims to have discovered an antibody that could shield the human body from the coronavirus and flush it out of a person’s system within four days, Fox News has exclusively learned.
Later Friday, Sorrento Therapeutics will announce their discovery of the STI-1499 antibody, which the San Diego company said can provide "100% inhibition" of COVID-19, adding that a treatment could be available months before a vaccine hits the market.
"We want to emphasize there is a cure. There is a solution that works 100 percent," Dr. Henry Ji, founder and CEO of Sorrento Therapeutics, told Fox News. "If we have the neutralizing antibody in your body, you don't need the social distancing. You can open up a

I just read the article and if it works, holy crap, it's a game changer. They claim they can immediately produce 200,000 doses per month and ramp up from there, and it has shown 100% success in their testing, and has zero side effects. Once a person takes the dose, they are immediately immune and can return to work without social distancing.

Usually if something seems too good to be true, it usually is. But I will continue hoping.

I don't give a rat's *** who is reporting it, I want it to work. It would be fantastic news for us all. Having said that, I'm not putting tremendous faith in the claims of the founder and CEO of the company.

I don't care who's reporting it, either. But many do, unfortunately.

It hasn’t even entered animal trials yet, it has only been shown to work en vitro. Don’t get me wrong, I hope it works, but I think the wild claims the CEO is making are a bit unfounded as of right now.

I'm playing with fire. I just bought some more at $7. Probably stupid. Company is a legit company, though. Not saying share price is justified or not, but it's got a decent revenue stream that is growing quickly.

This seems too good to be true, but dammit, to borrow a SPS term, I’m feeling wooly about it.

Pfizer has one in human trials

CEO has been quoted at being able to have millions of doses ready by end of year and hundreds of millions next year. I believe there are others that say they are on a similar timeline.

Don't be surprised if we have one sooner than later. Don't put water in that fire yet...

OH, what I saw didn't mention that. They haven't even got past the first real hurdle yet. They got out of the blocks, but that's about it so far. Somebody needs to check and see who bought their stock last week and see who sells it next week.

If this was available, I would give it today. I have been ordering convalescent plasma left and right, but sometimes patients never get it and when they do it is delayed by a day or two due to supply. If I had a supply of antibodies laying around every COVID patient I saw in the hospital would get it the moment I first saw them: That being said,, i think the spokesman needs to pump the brakes a little before saying they have a cure. Did help in pumping up their stocks though.

this. i don't think anyone in their right mind is wanting research, medicine, treatments, and cures to fail. just like i don't think anyone truly wants anything to be shut down. that's just as much as a political stink as when they claim the media a certain political groups want us to be shut down. nobody really wants that. the whole world has been doing this. i don't understand why some people can't get this is bigger than politics.

Nah. If it’s news, it’ll be reported by a bunch of media outlets— and this is.

I think it's more that 5+ people are tired of Drebin being incapable of not turning a thread political.

I didn't turn anything political. I made an observation. That you took it as political is the problem.

Watch out on buying Sorento stock. They had a big swing up on claims by the CEO on another drug back 4 or 5 years ago. Then it imploded back down to 2.00. I would darn sure get my initial back out if it doubles up then ride it rent free from there.

Haven't heard anyone talk about this...but does anyone else notice this RACE to find a cure and how it mostly seems to be happening in Western countries who have strong capitalist roots? It's what we've all been taught, about competition. These companies know that whomever it is that comes us with a cure/vaccine will instantly make everyone involved millionaires. If not billionaires.
