Makes me wonder. Who told Stoops they would go to Texas AM with him, and who said they'd stay behind or go elsewhere? My question: why was Gran's voice louder than Vince's? Did Stoops lose confidence in VM and his eye for talent? Was Gran more in sync with the types of players that Stoops wanted? It's curious that VM is known as a recruiter but Gran's opinion had more weight suddenly. What changed? I haven't seen much improvement in HS recruiting the past few years - is that due to Vince or Eddie? Shouldn't Stoops have some process in place whereby he reviews recruiting and how the players actually play? It seems like it should be simple to determine who had the better eye for the types of players that Stoops and their schemes required. If Gran was better, then his opinion should have weighed more. If Vince was better, then his opinion should've been followed. Makes me wonder just how far the program has slipped if there is not such an evaluation system in place.
You think UK is going to pay a $33 million buyout? It won’t happenBarnhart should be contacting Sumrall's parties right now.
You have to hope for a Cal-like ending here with Stoops. Things need to go south bad enough again that the heat gets ratcheted up to where the coach doesn't want to deal with the noise anymore. His agent finds a nice soft landing spot where someone is willing to pay him 2-3 mil to play his style of football in a weaker conference, where he can easily rattle off 7-8 wins and a bowl bid. That's no longer feasible at Kentucky anymore with Mark Stoops.
Call it laziness, call it the conference just getting stronger overall, or a combo of both, but it's not working, and both parties need to come to an amicable split. I thought that would happen last year, but maybe the openings weren't there, or Stoops still had that give it one more try that Cal did his last year here. Regardless, short of a six-win season this year, I think it's over next year.
I don’t care who it is, if you leave here to go to Louisville, you suck. Marrow knows how Kentucky fans feel about them and even give the L’s down plenty of times while here. Then he goes there, some childhood friend. Let him go, he made to much money here anyway.
This. Stoops needs to go out and find a replacement. There are other guys that are as good or better than Morrow. Look around. Will have to pay up but it can be done. What is Stoops suppose to say? His top recruiter just jumped ship when officials were taking play? Every UK fan knows it, pretty sure he isn't happy with the timing. I think it's more important he is able to find a replacement, because he is going to have to convince someone to leave less 2 months from fall camp.
Marrow and Brohm weren't even teammates in the NFL. It was with the Orlando Rage of the XFL in 2001. Vince was only on the practice squad too.Not even. Its much worse. He stabbed his longtime best friend in the back to join a rival coached by someone heet during his cup of coffee in the nfl.
Stoops is making $10 million a year, no school is going to match that. Granted, Cal took a pay cut to $8 million a year, but Stoops isn’t even an $8 million coach. I’d say he’s $3-4 million at best. Vince left because he wanted to abandon a sinking ship. Knowing that another 4-8 season like last season, that him and the entire coaching staff would be without a job. Why else would you leave an SEC job for an ACC jobKentucky football is a disaster right now. Can’t buyout Stoops because of the insane buyout and at best they are looking at 4-8, MAYBE 5-7. He wanted to get out, had several chances to go elsewhere, eff him for going to UL
Vince was and had lost power on the staff.Vince left because he wanted to abandon a sinking ship. Knowing that another 4-8 season like last season, that him and the entire coaching staff would be without a job. Why else would you leave an SEC job for an ACC job
Which guys VM recruited have left with him?Vince was and had lost power on the staff.
Also notice the guys VM was recruiting ended up at 7’s?
No listed recruiter for 7’s in the commitments. Tampering?
2026 class question is was VM steering players to 7’s while on UK payroll?Which guys VM recruited have left with him?
I read it as statement, though you had the question mark in place. My error.2026 class question is was VM steering players to 7’s while on UK payroll?
Something is off lots of silence
No biggie just really odd things going on. Maybe nothing?I read it as statement, though you had the question mark in place. My error.
A little hysteria there ya think? The funniest line in the whole thing is this…

Vince didn’t leave just for a job title — he left because the writing’s been on the wall. When basketball pushed back against the revenue-sharing cap, it told you exactly where UK’s priorities still are. Football built momentum, built a culture, and pulled top talent in year after year… but when it came time to decide who gets what in this new era of NIL and direct athlete payouts, we’re still treating football like a second-tier sport.
Marrow was the backbone of recruiting. If he felt like the program wasn’t being backed — in NIL, in influence, in future planning — he was going to walk. Louisville saw that and offered him control. We just lost one of the few people who could go into Ohio and steal four-stars from Big Ten schools, and now he’s doing it in red.
This isn’t just about losing a coach. It’s about what UK football really means to the people making the decisions.
Maybe he will be as good as the last UK coach that played at UK.Barnhart should be contacting Sumrall's parties right now.

And come to a place with a very uncertain future.he is going to have to convince someone to leave less 2 months from fall camp.
And just be here for one season as Stoops is a dead man walking. Don’t need to hire one. Let the WR coach have the TE also. What is Stoops suppose to say? His top recruiter just jumped ship when officials were taking play? Every UK fan knows it, pretty sure he isn't happy with the timing. It is much easier for BOTH sides to play the victim card... and let MJ present itI find it incredibly hard to believe stoops just suddenly stop listening to marrow. Just not buying that.
If there us any truth to any of this, its that marrow didn't get to target one or two guys and he felt jilted.
No chance his voice meant nothing.
Its far more likely that gm job was something vince wanted do he could move off the field.
Whoever it is we’ve gotten 2 top recruits since this broke.Who takes over Marrow job, is it Gran?
The last was never a head coach even at a high school. I like Joker and he is a Kentucky guy - but he was "Peter Principles" into being the UK head coach. A Big mistake from day 1!. Good recruiter and good O. C. - never had any business being a Head Coach!Maybe he will be as good as the last UK coach that played at UK.
