WVU is 9-0 in the Neal Brown era when it nets at least 100 rushing yards per game and 4-15 when held below that mark.

Probably not would be my guess. But just goes to show to win you need to have a run game.

Seems to be WVU's identity. I just assume it to be the case with Nehlen and RR that WVU was only ever able to exceed 9 wins when rushing well given their styles. Stewart's 3 seasons averaged 209.9, 186.4, and 159.7 rushing yards per game in chronological order. WVU averaged just 122.7 in 2011 where WVU won 10 games. Likely because WVU improved passing from 213 yards per game in 2010 to 346.8 in 2011. Although this is one of the seasons where the Geno touch "pass" to Tavon or other motioning reciever, which was practically a hand off in all but statistics, was effective. WVU had 228 rushing yards per game in 2016 when winning 10 games.

Nehlen had exceptional offensive lines. Great running backs a capable QB'S,

Rod had Pat White and Steven Sllaton and good O-line.

Stewart had Pat White, Geno, capable o line

Holgorsen had Geno, Tavon, Stedman Bailey good RB and fair OLine.

Brown has yet to have any of those. Time is running out for him.

WVU tonight 229 yards rushing tonight. Defense held TCU offense to 10 points and they average 38 a game.

Neal Brown 3-0 vs Patterson

10-0 when getting over 100 yards net rushing.

Some of those under 100 yards is a result of throwing it (either by desire, or desperation) and Doege taking a sack. I would personally like to see more QB under center and handoffs. Our line play seems to be better when we are lined up like that and going straight downhill, instead of side-to-side or read option look.

White and Slaton weren't household names coming out of high school. They became that with good, quality coaching and preparation.

The O line will be much improved next year.
