Why I used the term:

Uncle Tom by definition- any person perceived to be a participant in the oppression of their own group

These young black males play for a school that:

1. is famous for chanting "the South will rise again!!"- as in return to a time when blacks were subservient to whites.

2. Derives its name from " a moniker used by slaves to describe the wife of the plantation owner.

3. uses the song "Dixie" as its fight song- and plays its over and over again at sporting events. From wikipedia "The song presented the point of view, common to minstrelsy at the time, that slavery was overall a positive institution"...Dixie was used as a rallying cry by the Southern Army, and then by the KKK and the White Citizens Councils in the 1950's and 1960's. It is easily one of the most offensive songs to blacks in the US.
