Great fundraising benefit for the Special Olympics of Mississippi... I am told well over $20,000 was raised. Coach Mullen and Coach Fedora were the honorary "Tailgate Leaders"... Nutt and Miles were no shows. Complimentary beer provided by FEB Distributing (Miller, Coors, Corona, and Lazy Magnolia) and complimentary food was provided by Hooters, Half Shell Oyster House (all you can eat char-broiled oysters, awesome), the Shed BBQ, and Blow Fly Inn.

I was shocked at the hugeMSU turnout... Me and my wife had the chance to sit and talk with Dan and Megan for a long while... he even remembered having a drink with me at the Biloxi Yacht Club a few months ago for the Road Dawgs Tour. Thisguy is very cocky and arrogant when in the public spotlight, but when you get the opportunity to just sit with he and his wife and talk about fishing, golfing, traveling, etc.hereally is a very laid back guy. Megan is aboutas personable as they come... We are very fortunate to have this familyrepresenting our University. They flew down just hours before the event, stayeduntil about 9:30, and flew back to be with their son that night.Coach Mullentold theorganizers when kidsare involved, he will do anything in his power to supporta fundraising event. First class guy.... just because he is a smartass andgets under the skin of the bears, does not mean he is lacking class as they choose to think. It is all about marketing, and he is great at it.

I must say I was pretty impressed with Coach Fedora as well... verynice guy. I think he got sick and tired of watching the long line of folks waiting to talk toCoach Mullen (many of whom were Mustard Buzzards). He did challenge me to come to a USMfootball game this year and said "if you do not have the time of your life at that game, I will personally refund your money. We have a great atmosphere."... to which I said"Coach, I am actually planning on going to a game this year with my sister and her family, who are USM alum... and I am sure it will be fun, but in no way will it ever compare to football in the SEC and i doubt I will have the time of my life... You will see that in Starkville in 2014." He was quite taken back... then a drunk MSU guy comes up out of nowhere and told him they will always be the little brother of MSU and Ole Miss. It was very rude, but funny. Oh well, with an open barfolks are gonna talk open and honest.

Great night for the Special Olypmics and MSU...

That is the way to do it. I would be happy to live in Starkville, if I had the ability to jet to and from the coast.
