Busting my posting cherry here to post a recent article about Cam Newton that was written at the newspaper that covers the Texas JUCO team he plays for now. The article details his account of the whole laptop fiasco while he was at Florida, talks about how he's doing at Blinn JC so far and some of his possibilities for the future.

<span>Now Newton is balancing his class work with football season and a flood of recruiters who are interested in seeing Newton wearing their school colors next season. Michigan State, Kansas State, Oklahoma, Arizona and Tennessee are the leading candidates, Newton said.

"I want what's best for Cam Newton," he said. "I'm not going to no situation where I feel like there's a shadow or a cloud over that school, meaning they're already stacked at the quarterback position. I want to go to a school where I have the capability of playing right away, where I'm going to be the man. There's no hidden agendas no more. I have to play right now. There's no ifs ands or buts about it."</span>

<span>Surely the writer was a dubmass and meant MISSISSIPPI State instead of MICHIGAN State in that list of schools.</span>

And the writer just assumed....BUT if we beat Southern Miss in 2014 that will clear the air up a bit.

That ranks right up there with Arnil Stallworth leaving a $95 tip for the girl at the Sonic.

they have no QBs, and a decent defense, and a bigtime program. I have zero clue what kind of offense kiffin is trying to run though.

the "whatever it takes to keep your ****** QB from getting you beat then run it" offense.

As for UThug, they signed a guy out of California, Tyler Bray, that supposedly has a big arm but has questionable mobility. Generally it aint a good idea to trot a slow white guy out there in the SEC.

Article no longer has that quote but is it possible they confused Michgan State for Miss State both being MSU and all?

that was committed to fulmer? The guy was like the third rated qb in the country, but was the dual threat type qb and kiffin told the kid he would honor his commitment but he wasn't the type qb for his system which is the pro-style. The guy ended up going somewhere else. I'm thinking Newton is the same type.

Newton has no problem with a pro-style offense. He sees himself as a guy with pro-style passing ability who happens to also be able to run.

I'm not sure where he went after decommitting, though.

He must have alot of confidence in his pocket passing game. I think Mr. Newton should realize that his 6'5'' 240 frame that he can carry at a 4.5 pace is not worth downplaying. Talent like that doesn't come around very often.

I sure hope we get this guy. 4th and 1 will no longer be a concern - even with our shoddy O-line.

no Cam Newton and no Barry Brunetti. Could be a Croom-esqe QB class.

Depth Chart: Relf and 2 freshmen.
Relf and redshirt freshman Russell are 10 times better than what we have today. Lee brings zero to the table.
