The penalty is that injured player cannot participate in the following series, if that team advances. Third catcher J.C. Boscan will make the trip, as well as a handful of extra players."
Since Bobby was the only one dumb enough to carry a 3rd catcher, who's only use would be to leave the team with one less pinch hitter, this is huge. </p>
