Decided not to avoid recrootin. We now have 21 commitments with 3 JUCOs. Approximately 4-6 more spots based on attrition. In bold is who I think we have the best shots with.

Potential prospects:

Josh Dobbs - Atlanta
Asiantii Woolard - Tampa
John O'Korn - Ft. Lauderdale
Earnest Robinson - Birmingham (soft Auburn commitment)
Elijah Daniel - Indiana
Jalen Ramsey - Nashville
Mackenzie Alexander - South Florida
Toby Johnson - KS JUCO
Mackenro Alexander - South Florida
Deondre Skinner - Louisiana
Nate Willis - AZ JUCO
David Washington - MS JUCO
Donald Gray - Memphis
Terrell Basham - Hargrave
Derunnya Wilson - Birmingham

Daniel is headed to the Bears.

I think we close with Dobbs (or some QB), Gray (assuming he makes a qualifying test score), an injured Johnson (assuming UGA does not take him) and a handful of Plan Cs and Ds, which really should be schollies utilized for next year.

all the hoopla over Brewster's recruiting is rather fruitless because we would have gotten noone with Brewster that we wouldn't have gotten without him. Its nice to get guys to consider you but in recruiting if you ain't first you're last.

Yeah, I could see this. I sure don't see us getting Ramsey or the Alexanders. And Skinner is committed right now to Arkansas so that's a long shot at best. If we're going to sign plan Cs and Ds, I say we offer Dylan Bradley and Stacy Garner. We're going to regret not signing Bradley.

Don't be a nimrod. Give the guy a year to do his thing. In modern recruiting that's just the way it is.

Nimrod? give me a break...

you don't even know for sure if Brewster will even still be here a year from now. I didn't expect him to reel in a bunch of high rated out of state guys but if we don't get at least one of the guys he's been on from his current efforts it can't be spun any way but a disappointment.

you guys have a severe inferiority complex. We are still in the hunt for Daniels, Dobbs, Wilson, and the Alexanders. Anyone saying they are going to the Bears or anyone else is simply speculating on rumors that are unfounded. Not saying we will get those guys, but it isn't over by a long shot.

Furthermore, I am interested to see what happens if we hire Deshea Townsend as our DB coach. There are real rumors going around that there is mutual interest and that there has been talking between the two parties. Conner is probably an OM lock, but if there was one person that could potentially change that, you would think a South Panola legend might be that person.

The only one I said was going to the Bears was Daniel.

Interesting on Townsend. His name popped up early after Melvin leaving, but I had not heard much recently. Adding Townsend and either Bo Davis or the Thompson guy at Cal to coach the DL would be very good hires for us.

I'd save judgement until he has a full year of camps/recruiting etc to do his thing.

Anyone have insight on David Washington? I know, according to 247, we're listed as his favorites after de-committing from Kentucky.

I really hope Donald Gray can pull off the grades, I hear the guy can really ball and academic concerns are what are keeping his stock low.

I am betting we hire Kendall Roberson for DB coach. Also, I think Daniels is going to OM. Especially, if he needs grade heppin....

Exactly.

Deshea is also Conner's cousin...

Why the Brewster hate?

Last time I checked, it's still four weeks until signing day. So, Brewster's still working. But what are you saying with your comment? Brewster's not a good recruiter? I mean he can only get some elite HS freshman to commit, right? Or maybe he was a bad hire? Our receivers are surely worse than under Mirando.**

Yeah, Brewster might not be here in a year. That's like Mirando might not be here for signing day 2013; Melvin Smith won't make the signing day party; Chris Wilson, arguably the best recruiter no longer on the team, courteously declined to finish out this recruiting cycle. We hope that Brewster survives the attrition and brings lots of gifts to NSD 2014.

Talk about inferiority complex and bad information.
Skinner decommitted from Arkansas two days ago.
We'll get at least one of the two Alexanders (Brewster).
The Alexanders also have a DT on their team that has mutual interest.
Brewster has us in the running against TENN for a former CB de-commit from Auburn.
D. Wilson is probably going to Auburn.
It will be with us and Auburn for DT Toby Johnson.
We'll get Old Gray - if he qualifies (Brewster).
We'll get another quarterback - Dobbs, Wouldard, or Korn.
Still another 4 weeks until NSD. Let's see how the dominoes fall.

No Brewster hate whatsoever, he definitely seems to put more into recruiting...

than anyone else on our staff but it will disappointing if, like the post I replied to occurs, and we get none of the guys he's targeting. Will be a lot of players he tried but whiffed on for this year. But hopefully he will actually pull 1 or 2 of the guys he is on, just seems not many folks think he will. I'll worry about next year next year.

this guy is a former HC with a big reputation as a recruiter that came to us to get back in coaching but I have no clue he is willing to stick with us for any reasonable length of time as WR coach.

Getting an injured Johnson will go great with Cox to fill Mike Hunt's void.

any chance we could get the Jones kid from Eupora that's committed to the Bears? Rumor was earlier he wanted to come with us if we offered, may be too late now though. He looked like a player in the MS/AL all-star game.
