Are there any upcoming 4 or 5 star recruits interested in State for next year that we can get all giddy about then watch as they bail for the money again at the last minute??

He has built a very good relationship with Coach Wilson, let's focus on keeping Coach Wilson here. Losing those relationships is what really kills you in the end.

There's a very good article on BDJ just now.

Given his relationship with Coach Wilson and the fact Shay Hodge is is cousin who he is very close with and Duece being so popular in Morton and a big influance this should be a recruiting battle for the ages. I know he likes Bama alot right now and has been a big Rebel fan in the past couple of years. It will be a huge get for msu if ya'll get him. Last I saw he was a honor student to.

he has not mentioned Ole Miss to Paul Jones on BDJ in months. I did not know he and Shay were cousins. I agree, this will be a recruiting battle for the ages if Ole Miss is really in the picture.

Did you not learn anything from this recruiting season? I'm with Mullen, a commitment is like a reservation. Even if he does commit, it means nothing...

a commitment you give where you don't follow that by shutting down your recruitment is simply a reservation.

As a fanbase our first reaction should not be to always think the worst and lash out. We, myself inclduded, are way to pessimistic and cynical. I know that comes from years or good reasons to be pessimistic and cynical but we need to improve on that.

I know that's pretty Genes Page'ish butit's only February 4th 2011 and we're talking about having recruits bought out from under us 363 days from now? If we have another good year or do even better next year (which I think is possible) I can see us really bringing in a huge class of recruits.

*copy and paste that Coach Nix/Yancy*

He hasn't mentioned OM in his favoritiesfor a while and today told Paul that it is MSU and Bama. Plus the coach that was recruiting him for Bama left for TX. Throw in that one of his best friends just commited to us and I think it bodes well for us. However, similar things were said about CJ this time last year and we see how that turned out.

I'm assuming your from the area, if not disregard. I've heard the kid is really good but somehow just got overlooked. That's basically what Rod Walker from the CL has said too.

Maybe we can trade or something. We'll play two home games in a row in Bryant Denny, what do you say?

The only bad thing I can say about him is I am not sure if he has the speed to play SEC ball. He may be able to work on it and get faster but what I saw of him in games he is I would guess to be a 4.5 or 4.6 type guy. I know he had problems covering Moncrief and Pinkston because of thier speed. He has good size and movement hands are very iffy but that is why is was signed as a DB not a reciever. He played both in high school.

will end up playing safety for us. I know that some people who watched him at the MS/AL All Star game and practices said he was by far the best CB on the field and they he pretty much shut every WR down all week. And late in the game, when it was apparently close, Calhoun was playing safety and Brassell was on the sidelines. FWIW.

I love all the recruits. They are all good people. I hope all of them can make it to Mississippi State University, but if not I wish them the best in whatever they decide to do.

but this quote reminds me of that nonsense Genespage claimed about that Carpenter OL MSU signed whipping Powe all week in practice of the MS/AL game.
