In the last four recruting classes, South Carolina has received commitments from 2 five star and 29 four star rated players. In contrast during the same period Vanderbilt has received commitments from 0 five star and 8 four star players.
Also, only 60% of those SC commitments have remained with the program.

There is a lot to be said about having a senior laden team. Those guys may have been 2 or 3 star players out of high school but 22/23 year olds that have played a lot of college ball are more on the level of a 4 star.

True, but the four and five stars who are still with the program in year three should be even better than when they were freshmen.

The talent levels of the two teams should not be similar.

Clark Lea became Head Coach at Vandy the same time Beamer became Head Coach here. He was a Defensive Coordinator and a Recruiting Coordinator in the past and played fullback for Vandy in college. Vandy is 48th in the nation in Total Offense, 36th in rushing and 16th in Team Passing Efficiency and 18th in Total Defense out of 134 teams. He runs a balanced offense that is good along with an excellent defense. He evidently is a helluva coach. Can Vandy keep him? I don't know. But if they are willing to pay up, he might stay. Sometimes you have to be lucky.

I would be curious to see what he can do with a program that is more invested than Vandy.

I also think this is his year to hit the market. They have a major rebuilding year next year.

He is a Vandy alum. He is there for more than a stepping stone job. I don't see him leaving for a long time, if ever. He is making over $3 million a year. He can live pretty well in Nashville on that kind of money. Vandy fans love him and he can go 6-6 at Vandy forever and they will build a statue of him.

Lea took Vandy to a bowl win last year. He is 5 years younger than Beamer. I don't care if I get slammed for saying this but, here it goes: I would trade Beamer for Lea in a skinny minute.
