Recruiting needs

Just looking at our current list, this is what I think we should try to get.

#1 At least two or three more o-linemen. I know we have some young o-linemen, but we need as many as we can get.

#2 Another RB- I know that Croom is working on that, and I bet we land at least one. It probably would be a good idea to get two.

#3 A good kicker. I don't know if Croom is counting on Richards, or what, but at any rate, we could use one for depth, at the very least.

#4 Maybe another QB- I know Hollingsworth is listed as one, but I bet he will either jump ship if Auburn gives him a scholarship, and if he does come to MSU, I doubt he's a QB.

but Charles Mitchell is coming in, plus the guys we're recruiting as safety's now, Lawrence, Whitley, Banks. Thames will be in there if he signs with us. Phillips may end up at safety.

I figure Johnson and Washington start again next year (legal system pending), we have a couple of people behind them, but we need more for sure, because they are all freshmen and may not be worth a ****. Coaches are raving about Damein Anderson though. Got some guy from Texas we are recruiting. Corner should be a priority for this class, would have been nice to land Alonzo Lawrence.

But, Croom has shown a knack for taking athletes and using them where they are most needed.

...to help as far as the kicking game was concerned for this coming season. I think he wouldn't mind having another kicker for reasons of depth either.

Yeah, CB should be a priority, but I don't think there is that much to choose from. Maybe if we take 5+ WR we can have a couple convert. I don't imagine that WR's turn into CB's that often though.

There is one 4 star, Eric Gordon, in Nashville who is not really interested in anyone in particular right now by the sound of his last scout.com article. He be a nice addition to this class.

Do anybody know who is recruiting Sean Brauchle from the coast? He plays for Perk right now, and I saw him kick a 40 yard field goal without a tee when he was a freshman in high school. The kid is good.

Montrell Conner will probably come to MSU.
Also, Eric Gordon is Jamont Gordon's Brother. Which most everyone knows.

I think the RB situation is OK right now with Dixon, Ducre', Elliott and Bonner (but both of these guys are unproven and unknowns). However, we need some battering-ram type fullbacks and TE's to open up some holes for these freakers. With some of the Offensive Lineman currently on the roster being a little green especially with Brown kicked off, we need additional help with blocking, power and muscle by the FB's and TE's to open up the holes in the opponent's defense.

Also, it would be beneficial to continue to get as many WR's as possible with guys like Bumphis, Thames, etc. However, with the ultra-conservative-keep-the-ball-run-the-clock mentality of the current Offensive Coordinator, luring these top notch WR's will be a huge chore.

Agree, if Croom will stop being stubborn, we do need to sign one or maybe two more QB's to supplement depth just in case of injuries to Carroll, Relf, etc.
