There is a lot of chatter right now that leads one to think that Liggins to oxford may not be a sure thing. Mullen likes his chances and Liggins has expressed a desire to play with some of our current commits. We won't debate the whole qb situation b/c common sense doesn't play a part when trying to pull a recruit from oxford or south panola. On a side note, the spirit was very unhappy last night in response to yancy's tidbits and there is a move in their attitude towards recruiting. They are calling for an emphasis on MS players next year. But, they will be getting their asses handed to them on the field again next year. Expect the level of ******** to ramp up seriously next year. I will be surprised if they don't start an all out assault from every angle beginning next year (especially if we have a winning season and go bowling).

we need to just quit talking about liggins, as a whole

we are about to force the OM fanbase to do some unfortunate things. We need to shut the liggins talk off immediately...

I have no clue where Liggins will sign. But I'm fairly certain you will have one of two possible reactions:<div>1) I told y'all so</div><div>2) He/his family couldn't over come the pressure</div><div>
</div><div>I know his family. They are good people. You're doing an injustice to the integrity of his family with your small amounts ofinnuendonow, and I'm sure it will be heaped on if he does choose Ole Miss. The proper thing for you to do would be to stop the insinuations, but I'm sure it's much cooler, in your eyes, for you to talk like he and his family are not capable enough to make their own decisions without fear of reprisal.</div>

This is a little over the top. Unless it's a calculated rebuttle suitable for printing and in that case WELL DONE! Your bear superiors will be proud!

I was just saying in general ...everyone needs to think before they type on this situation

I am hearing he is catching hell, because as you do, most ole miss fans are pissed that he could go to MSU and if by the off chance he is good to great they will hear it forever ...they don't want him as a qb, they def don't want him qb at MSU

No doubt- he has a very good support system within his family...but dont act like they arent getting pressure from all over to stay "home" <div>
</div><div>Shall I remind you of Ward's comments?</div>

Coach34 does this every year over some recruit, and he likely doesn't realize it but his 'pressured' insinuations imply that some family isn't above some false fear of retribution he thinks exists, or worse that someone else would be shallow enough to force their will onto a kid, or his family, about a college decision. It's childish and harmful, even if .0001% of the folks reading it never meet the family anyway. My opinion on this has nothing to do with where he chooses; more along the lines that I think Coach34 needs to drop the cloak and dagger fingering pointing over every talented athlete in the state of Mississippi.

he would make his own decision and wasn't scared of any particular fanbase so I hope he holds true with that. Have no problem with him going to UM IF that's where he truly wants to go and is not being coerced into going by outside influences.

stop tweeting pics of their new trucks they receive right after signing day, and making comments like "winning isnt important, I have to do whats best for my family"....I'll stop bringing these things up

Nobody is questioning their integrity. But your overtly pious defense of the Liggins family is just a little suspicious to me.

or whomever you believe I may be... I wish I owned a store that makes that kind of money.<div>
</div><div>I'm sure he is being asked to stay and play at Ole Miss.... by the Ole Miss coaches. Don't act like the residents of Lafayette County and the surrounding area are so low as to threaten him, or his family, if he doesn't. I'm sure he is asked if he's going to choose Ole Miss over MSU, or MSU over Ole Miss, or even Auburn by the local folk, but nobody is threatening, pressuring, or any other way you want to put it. I don't have a problem with believing Robert Elliot made the choice he wanted to make, or that Richie Brown will to. I didn't go on the internet to toss rocks at the integrity of the people living near Robert Elliot or Richie Brown, so why do you feel the need to do that about the people in Lafayette County? It's just as juvenile for you to imply it about Liggins' recruitment as it was over Patterson, Sanders, Pegues, Singleton, or any other good family name that has inherently and implicitly been the recipient of yourimplicationsvia your internet ramblings about their kids. For goodness sake man, grow up.</div><div>
</div><div>You won't have to remind me about Ward's comments; you'll be the first to tell me, because I never read them to in the first place.</div>

simply because CJ Johnson got a new truck to start school and you feel there is no way possible the Johnson family could ever find financing for it? Man, you are incredible. Maybe you should stop trying to read between the lines of things a kid puts on the web 140 characters at a time.

As I posted the other day, hometown pressure hasn't really worked for us in the past with Oxford kids. Most of them leave town, more than likely to not be living so close to their parents for college. I'm not sure why this time would be different, or why we'd be getting so much better with hometown pressure.

He is questioning the entire community's integrity. He thinks the family isn't capable of speaking for themselves. He thinks the residents of Oxford aren't interested in a kid unless it is beneficial to Ole Miss. He thinks a local store owner is classless enough to go so far as to impede a young man from making his own decisions.<div>
</div><div>He has questioned quite a few people's integrity; it's juvenile and classless, and all he wants to do is sound like he's informed. If he wants to come off as informed, then he should just say he has reason to believe Liggins will sign with MSU, and then leave it at that. Don't put in an escape clause which belittles the integrity of the family or those around them.</div>

I just named a couple of examples.<div>
</div><div>When a kid says "I dont care about winning- I have to do whats best for my family" in reply to his decision instead of the normal factors its obvious. You arent speaking to Joe Statefan here, I've seen what goes on from all sides in recruiting. I just laugh at you people when you have Billy Brewer calling Sherrill the biggest cheater in college football, and then Brewer gets fired 3 years later for cheating.</div><div>
</div><div>

In the same breath (typed sentence), you just said a family is a quality group, yet you belittle their young man's reasoning for his choices. They don't owe you the perfect explanation for their decisions, and they, or their community in which they live, don't deserve to have you run around the internet beating to death their quotes and pushing out your opinion that they couldn't make their own decisions in life due to the horrible, vindictive people they live near.<div>

It really sucks when you guys have to stoop to hiring a "patsy" for a coach so that the plantation owners can get back tosowing the recruiting grounds fora Mississippi Christmas.

That's why you ran off Cutcliffe. He wouldn't allow the "games" to be played and kept the "boys" outof the dressing room and thatdidn't sit well.

Now that you've got Chizik Jr. in there, ya'll are all in and are attempting to win at any "cost"!

Unfortunately, your notAuburnand based on your track record with the NCAA, they are a lot better than you.Just ask Brewer.

Keep up the good work with your bitchin'and we'll give you yet another ***-whoopin' come November!

So which is it? Is family pressure going to play into this or not. Seems Liggins is saying it won't so if he commits to us will you throw that excuse out the window? I already know the answer to that, but I don't know why y'all will believe all this other **** about wanting to play with your commitments and loving Mullen and not believe what he said about family pressure not being a factor.

to tell us about good people this and that after the **** that y'all pulled last year? Really?? Take that bs back to Nafoom, tell your boys, Yancy, Rounsaville, Coach Stevie...all of them, that State is all in! Your getting your asses handed to you, and you don't like it. You got no one to blame but yourselves! Now take your self righteous *** back to Bearville.
