I don't have many good sources, but this source is my most reliable. He said that the Browns are signing with us and we have narrowed the gap with Liggins to about 40% as of last night. One of the coaches told my source that they will know for sure by Friday onLiggins, and if Dan is on a plane to Georgia over the weekend then we aren't getting Liggins and we're offering the Georgia kid.

While I like my source, he could very well be wrong...but I thought I would share what little info I had. It's really not groundbreaking news bc I kinda figured that's where we were right now anyway. Oh well, we'll see what happens. I could easily live with that close out. Thoughts?

I dont know your source, but if Mullen is on a plane to Georgia for Nick over the weekend then Mullen is not very smart considering the kid will be on hisOV toState this weekend.Just sayn

I remember thinking that we had no shot at Peagus, and all I ever read was how he was a lock to TSUN, but we somehow talked himinto an OV. I remember listen to the radio that morning and it was annouced that Peagus signed with us, possibly the biggest coup Croom ever got recruitiing. The pressure Peagus would have had to endure if he commited early would have been horrific, so he waited til signing day to announce.Liggins recruitment has a lot of similarities, but thats not to say he will sign with us, but he would also be stupid to announce early. I have my doubts he announces Monday afterall.</p>

Our staff is going to see the GA QB tonight, and Mullen isn't going from what I was told (but not sure on that, he just was mentioned). The visit will not impact Liggins timeline in any way, shape, or form. He plans to announce Monday and he'll be given until then, or maybe even until NSD, to decide if that's what he wants to do. If he wants to come to State, we'll take him no matter when he makes that decision.

Brown's the kind of recruit that will make his own decision... damned what anyone else thinks he should do. Porter knows that. So you put it out there that he's been told to shut down his recruiting and will not visit Oxford. Brown takes offense and schedules his visit just to maintain control of his recruitment.

After all.. it was Chuck Rounsville to begin with who put it out there that he was done with visits and wouldn't travel to Oxford.

and over and over again. The thing on the square is an event for ALL the players in that part of the State. It is not for Liggins. And it is not about Ole Miss. It's for all the kids there to get a chance to do a big announcement event hosted for the radio. Even the guys doing the radio show have explained this and told the Ole Miss fans to be respectful because they know a fair number of the people will be going to other colleges. Announcing in the square has NOTHING to do with his decision. If Matt really said that then he isn't paying attention.

Yeah, I was shocked when he signed with us. I remember that he went to play basketball when Croom went came for the in home visit and the OM fans thought (and I did too) that was the final sign that he was going to OM. As it turns out he wasn't disrespecting Croom that night,he had just already decided where he was going.

Also, just for the other poster's education, I wasn't completely banned. They're too chicken **** to do that. They just won't let me correct Rosebowl anymore and revoked my posting privileges. Regardless, that's all irrelevant. Liggins has a spot until NSD. That's the plan. Rosebowl is uninformed, and because of that, he's trying to falsely put out a non-existent timeframe for Liggins to make a decision. That's not good for us.

Liggins will decide Monday. If he goes to UM then Schuessler gets an offer. The fact that we are visiting him is not some definitive sign of Liggins' intentions. Our coaches visit many prospects who we never end up offering.

Anyway, It all seems like BS now if Mullen is going to Georgia today. My thinking is the same as several others, we will hold a spot for Liggins and have the GA kid on standby if he chooses Ole Miss. My original post was actually geared more towards the good feeling about the Browns than anything else. I am way more excited about the Browns than the possibility of Liggins. I would just like to see us get Liggins because we could use a QB, he's the best on the board, and OM wouldn't be getting a kid from their home town.
