I wonder what it's like to be a legitimate Alabama fan all the time. Like what if your parents went there, you grew up watching them, and you ended up attending and graduating from there? A non-bandwagon, legitimate fan. Do they have stress in their lives? What do they complain about? Anything? Are they more or less likely to act out on their spouse? They don't have to complain about recruiting. While we're doing that, do Alabama fans use this time to come up with all their good jokes about MSU and the bottom teams in the SEC? They sure have a lot of free time to waste.
MSU could hire Sean Payton as head coach, sign the reincarnation of Johnny Unitas, win 3 straight national championships, cure head trauma in football, and I would still be a pessimist about Mississippi State athletics. You know that feeling you had when MSU was 7-0 this year, or maybe that feeling immediately following the blowout win in the Gator against Michigan? Maybe not Saban's first Alabama NC, but his other two... I imagine that's how their fans feel after their yearly championship. Being an MSU fans means a 5-7 year is less than half as bad as a Bama fan's 9-3 year. "5 wins? So close! 3 more of these kinds of seasons though and we should fire Dan." vs their "WE DIDN'T WIN 10 GAMES?! 111111777777! WE CAN'T EVEN WIN 10 GAMES DURING A REBUILDING YEAR!"
Surely MSU football will create the next John Grisham too. Alabama football facilitates zero creativity.
Somewhere in Mississippi there is a young MSU fan who reads this board daily and discusses the contents with his school buddies. Sixpack is molding a young mind on conspiracy theories, deception, and high quality drama entertainment.
