This is one of the quietest recruiting seasons I can remember. Is there a top in State talent that will go down to the wire like in years past?

There really isn't a nationally elite talent in the state this year. Rod Taylor would be the closest thing.

As you said Rod Taylor is not. Seeing him in person this year, he was not dominant against Warren Central's defensive line. In fact, he was abused a couple of times. I wouldn't say his play was particularly noticeable for such a highly rated guy. He may have had a bad game, but I think he's overrated.

Breeland Speaks is an elite talent. Seriously. He's the best player in the State. He's not a Chris Jones or Knemdichie type, but he's All SEC level talent.

Probably not. Rod Taylor's teammate at Calloway. Current committed to OM. Maybe he'll OV, I don't know.

I agree. He's alot better than he's rated on a couple of these sites right now...

I also saw Mr. Speaks in the same game. He has the size and the body of an elite athlete, but once again, he was dominant while playing inferior talent. I was a bit disappointed. Grant Harris from Clinton did more in the game I saw him play against the same team. Of the prospects that I watched this year, the two that stood apart were Gerri Green on an awful team and Malik Dear. Mr. Green was all over the field and made the first 5-6 tackles of the game for their defense. Dear has great hands and is elusive, but I did not see his top end speed. At his size, it will need to be in the 4.4-4.5 range to make him elite. It was clear that Mr. Speaks was talented, but he definitely was not dominant in a game in which he should have stood out. Again, that's one game.

And? Oklahoma, like everybody else, doesn't have a class full of nationally elite recruits. Nobody ranks that kid that highly.

Not saying ratings mean a whole lot, but Scout has Ole Miss ranked 11th and State ranked 38th. We're next to last in the SEC.
