How hard is this garbage to sell to top recruits moving forward. All this about the future looks like a hard sell. Along with "no fear of failure"

Easy....same as the guys already committed. rebuild culture, desire to win, work hard and compete. Love the game of football. Early playing opportunities if you put in the work.

Ultimately, it may cause the TOP kids to shy away. But, the high 3/low 4 kid can see the availability for early playing time.

The reason I say it may shy the top kids away is they may not want to have the pressure and expectations that they are the savior (like we put on Martinez's shoulders). Why not be a group of 6-7 top kids going to a top program where they are part of a group that maintains/grows it.

Need a couple above average seasons to start pulling the high 4s and 5s in.

Would be nice to sign a LB or 2. Lost this target to Syracuse and they recently fired their LB coach.

What guys should we be excited about? I'm tired of being negative. My hangover is gone from that ****** game.

Manning?

Who else?

it has been a long, long time since this program has ranked behind any big ten west team in recruiting .. 2008 I believe

I suspect things will pick up as this would be another low

Corcoran is the kind of OL we haven’t landed in a long time. If Betts qualifies, he makes our offense better right away. Gunderson and Hutmatcher seem like really good prospects at positions we desperately need. And, yes, Manning would be a huge addition, that would make our offense better right away.

Yeah, if we end up with Betts and Manning, they start take over one of the outside spots. We pair them up with Spielman and Wandale and that could be dangerous.

Who is the deep threat? Maybe one of the freshman/sophs we currently have step up there?

The High School kids that Nebraska are recruiting are typically 16-17 years. They've probably been watching college football the past 7-8 years. What has Nebraska done in that time frame that would make a top recruit want to come?

Nebraska fans think Football is about recruiting stars, the spring game, balloons, and Blackshirts. Football is actually about blocking, tackling, not turning the ball over, doing the little things. Until Frost can solve the fundamental problems, things will stay the same.

Which is different than what the other 50 bottom feeders in college football teams are selling? Look at the recruiting rankings, you know what brings in kids? Wins.

He committed to Syracuse a few hours AFTER they fired their Defensive Coordinator and LB Coach, and a week after visiting here, without even visiting Syracuse officially. So that's how bad our LB recruiting is going. He even tagged the fired coach in his commitment tweet.

Still in it with some major linebacking talent. I think we will get some.
When you go through and look at targets at various positions, it's pretty clear that we have multiple targets for each spot. When a kid who lists medium interest for NU and he picks another school closer to home who is also going through a crappy season, I would say that there's zero reason for panic.

He committed to Syracuse because of location. He wanted to stay on the east coast. It has nothing to do with "how bad our linebacker recruiting is going".

The big sell is very obviously early playing time. Looks to me like he's doing all he can to preserve every RS he possibly can this year. I expect a big class on the heels of that.

I suspect the playing time starts to flow a little more freely for young guys in the 2020 class.

The 2019 class is going to show up even more next year than it did this year. Years ago I had a subscription to the RSS. The stupidity about recruiting especially on this free board was beyond comical. You can't fix stupid.

NU will always be able to get good talent, period. With good coaching and development, NU should always be in contention for the West, period.

Syracuse is further from Florida than Nebraska. There are a lot of schools on the east coast that are closer, warmer, and more appealing than Syracuse. I don't think I've ever heard anyone choose to live in Syracuse, NY because of the location.

He said he chose Syracuse because of the relationship he had with one of their assistants, and the appeal of playing early. We could have offered the same early playing time, so it comes down to him not connecting with our coaches as much as the Syracuse coaches.

Looks like it's the apologists v the whiners

"scott frost sucks, waahhhahhhahhhh, I want to be Bama. Fire everybody and hire Urban!"

Vs

"I knew what we were getting into. I can see the future. You're just stupid. Oh, we lost again??? Yeah, our players suck. I've been saying it all along. We'll be in the playoffs in two years, you idiot"

I've been whining lately. I need to just let things play out

Sounds like we're about to lose out on our top remaining priority at ILB. Expected to commit to UCLA tomorrow evening. (Choe Bryant-Strothers)

Wonder how long it will take @Top_Gun_ to throw a **** fit and try to shoot the messenger this time.

he'd be nice to have since our defense consistently gets gaped worse than you in the bathroom at the annual marine corps reunion

That's not reality. Nebraska doesnt play guys as soon as they walk on campus and it is truly a head scratcher when you look at what they trot out on the field. Compare Nebraska with Alabama this year. Alabama is regularly playing 5 freshmen on defense with a roster completely loaded with 4 and 5 stars, while Nebraska thinks you have to redshirt every single person. Complete stupidity if you ask me....

From what I have seen, there is a pretty big difference in how Alabama's freshmen look and how ours look. Just going off the ole eyeball test.
